We all have our own preferences and little particulars that can make or break a spanking photo.  I know a certain guy (cough-Windsor-cough) that will rave over a photo taken at just the right angle so that the girl’s face is fully in frame and the crescent of the her spanked bottom is visible rising in the background. 

I’ve heard that for others it’s reversed and the key shot is with the bare bottom fully on display and the girl looking back in dismay at the punishment she is receiving.

For me, there is no one particular angle that really does it, but I do find I’m naturally drawn to photos that have excellent overall pleasing composition, are free of clutter and distraction in the background (big pet peeve!), and somewhat believable expressions on the faces of both the girl and the top. 

With regard to those expressions, I don’t want to see the girl or the spanker grinning like a loon unless it’s a fun spanking … or the spanker is purely evil and enjoying having to punish.  A smirk in a revenge spanking, sure.  A Joker style grin in a parental or strict discipline scene?  Not so much. 

I like to see the girl expressing pain and other appropriate emotions – open mouth gasp and cry, gritting teeth, nervous anticipation.  Anything except looking totally bored and yawning, lifeless, or Joker style grin (see above).  And while it may be normal to bury one’s face in the pillows or hang the head straight down towards the floor during a a private spanking, I hate to be gypped of facial expressions and potential tears.  I like the flip I feel in my tummy when an expression really touches my heart because I feel a strong connection to the girl being punished.

Often it’s a natural reaction to want to look straight at the camera when having a picture taken.  And the occasional shot of a girl’s anguish practically shouting “get me out of here!!!” right through the computer screen is endearing.  Emphasis on occasional though because for the most part I want to feel as if I’m a fly on the wall and there is no awareness of me as a witness to the spanking.  I’m not keen on the spanker looking at the camera at all.  Again, I know it’s hard not to because it’s habit, but especially if the spanker is photographed mid-spank, I think he or she should be looking at the target.  Have to focus on the task at hand and make sure not to land a spank on the back, hip, or do a total swing-and-a-miss.  I enjoy a look of intense concentration on the girl by the spanker to be exciting because it suggests there is a genuine bond and chemistry between the two players.  Looking away makes me think they are as bored as a yawning girl.

What are your spanking picture preferences and peeves?

I’ve received a few emails asking about the annual Cause for Paws animal charity fundraiser that I normally run around this time.  It is indeed fast coming up on the day the charity walk is going to be held, but this year due to my illness and frequent hospital visits, I am not able to participate in the walk and have not had the wherewithall to organize auctions, drawings, and giveaways as I have in previous years.  I also am unable to promise a Thank You Spank Me video at this time. 

It really breaks my heart and I’ve been plagued with quite a bit of guilt as the charity has come to expect a donation boost from all of our efforts at this annual event.  I even received a voicemail from the organizer to wish me good luck in my fundraising and to say they looked forward to seeing me at the walk.  G-U-I-L-T!!!!  I keep procrastinating in having to return the call to say that I didn’t think I could help this year. 

With the encouragement from an email penpal / blog reader / animal loving donator, I am posting to provide the opportunity for anyone that wishes to contribute to the Cause simply because they wish to help out and save some furry lives even without the usual spanking fanfare. 

Although I am unable to safely do the video at this point, I am certainly open to ideas for something else I might offer in return.  Send donators a handwritten thank you letter?  Hold a drawing with all contributors as entrants and send the winners items — an outfit of mine?  a print of one of my vanilla nature photos?  a print of one my not so vanilla nature photos?  LOL!  Let me know. 

Although the charity walk is coming up soon, there is no reason why the Cause for Paws deadline need be the same since I am not participating in the walk anyway.  I will simply let the organization know it will be a separate donation at a slightly later date.

I’m a busy editing bee these days.  Just finished editing the content from the Punished Brats shoot with Taylor Rayne, Josh Payne, and David Pierson and am about to start on the content from last weekend’s shoot with David and Pi.  In between I made up a couple of DVDs for purchase including Angelina and Azul in Dark Angel and Amaya and Veronica in Discipline in the Home.

An interesting question was sent my way by one of my good friend blog readers. 

Respank.  Is that even a word?  My top uses the phrase “Am I going to have to respank you?”

Tsk.  As we bottoms know, tops do have a tendency to make up rules on the fly and now it seems they are making up their own words and phrases.  I have to double check the bottom’s guidebook to spanking, but I’m pretty sure any spanking action under the guise of a pseudo-term is not allowed.

That being said, there are occasions when a second spanking for the same infraction is warranted.  One is when the bottom is committing the same act a second time that earned them the original spanking.  For example, say a spanking is given for chewing gum in an obnoxious manner.  A minor spanking for a minor offense.  Slate is then wiped clean and the lesson is learned … except that said bottom soon after grabs another gumball or three and continues to blow and pop bubbles the size of her head despite having just gone over the fact that it’s rather distracting and annoying after a while.  A second spanking for a second offense is not out of the question, and the ouch factor can be upped a bit in the hopes of the message truly sinking in this time. 

The other time that a second spanking in relation to the same infraction is acceptable (well, depends on who you ask!) and not a case of double jeopardy is when a spanking is given early in the day and it is determined at the time of punishment, that a bedtime booster is to be delivered as well.  In this case, the second spanking is usually much milder in comparison to the first.  It is to serve as only a reminder of the lesson learned earlier that day and to provide a warm stingy bottom to sleep on.  The bottom’s … errr bottom is already sensitive and sore from the first spanking so it does not take very much to rekindle that flame.  The bottom may argue that two spankings for the same act is unfair, but the top’s argument is generally that it is in fact one punishment merely split into two segments and with the knowledge that a second spanking is coming at bedtime, it is a constant reminder to be on one’s best behavior for the remainder of the day. 

I think both situations could be examples of what the top is referring to with the term “respank”, but he or she ought to clarify.  I suggest you ask this as an open ended question rather than provide the above examples in seeking an answer lest the top respond, “both”.

It’s almost Labor Day!  Time for the last hurrahs of summer.  One last big BBQ blast or family picnic.  One last chance to use up those  firecrackers leftover from the 4th of July.  One last soak in the sun before fall unofficially comes to an end and the evil cold temperatures start creeping back in (at least around here … I know those further south of me could probably go mini-golfing in short shorts on Christmas, but then again, those of you across the pond have probably already had to break out your woolen undies). 

I try to remind myself that although I was gypped of a summer this year, fall isn’t all bad.  Pretty, colorful leaves to admire.  Pumpkins to carve.  Fresh apple cider.  Crocks of hot soup.  And of course … back to school mania!!  And while that means a return of homework, pop quizzes, cafeteria lunches, and smelly gym lockers for real students, I simply get to revel in the school girl stuff that pops up this time of year. 

Check out the recent additions to my collection of school girl stuff.  My mom bought me a black and red plaid school skirt (gotta love Mom!) and my hubby found me thick, heavy black ruler at an antique shop that claims it’s a “Nun’s Ruler”.  That ruler is so heavy, I would actually be concerned about the skin breaking if it was used to deliver a rap on the knuckles, but perhaps the fleshy bottom would be more forgiving.

While I wait to test that theory out for a while yet, this weekend, I plan to try to catch up on as much work as possible.  First up is editing the latest Punished Brats series filmed featuring new model Taylor Rayne, new top Josh Payne, and David Pierson.

Need to get a jump on it as another new shoot with Pi facing off with Veronica is scheduled for Saturday!  Lots of good new stuff coming your way at Punished Brats.  And in the meantime, up tonight in the members’ section is the conclusion of Babysitting Blues in which Veronica spanks me with a particularly nasty paddle for having my boyfriend over while I’m supposed to be watching her brats … I mean children.  And what am I wearing in that scene?  Why, a school girl skirt, of course!!

My mom’s visit was extended due to the hurricane.  It was a good thing actually as I really needed (and could probably still use!!) the extra help a bit longer. 

Last night, we were flipping through trying to find a movie on TV to watch when I spotted this:

My eyes bugged out but I tried not to look awkward.  I very much wanted to click to see what the movie was about, but I’m sure the title is but a tease.  Probably has nothing to do with paradise let alone spanking.  Have to wait for a private moment to verify and be certain though. 

The title alone conjures thoughts of just what a spanking in paradise would be.  For me, it would probably be a medium intensity OTK spanking from a handsome toppy man set on a warm private white sands beach before an ocean of aqua blue water.  What would your “spanking in paradise” be like?

I’m continuing to rest and recover. It will still be a long journey to wellness. I think the hardest battle is not one of patience and self-care but having to fight doctors and other idiots to attain proper care and what is best for me as a person, not a number or another appointment slot to be pushed back by 2 months due to poor scheduling. I’m pretty frustrated and disgusted at this point.

Thank you to all of you that have kept me in your good thoughts. You have helped me to make it through this hurdle.

And thank you to those of you that have been so understanding and kind and given me the necessary time to recuperate a bit. It was a set back health wise to endure the surgery and I needed every minute I could get to rest and / or sit in a painkiller induced haze!

Yes, Irene is headed our way and due to hit our area tomorrow morning. I will therefore be posting the Punished Brats’ update that I normally put up on Sunday evening online tonight just in case of power outages or problems connecting to the server due to the storm. I would never want to let anyone go without their spanking fix!

Just wanted to drop by and say a quick hello to let you all know that I made it through surgery ok and am now home.  Thank you to everyone that kept me in their thoughts and prayers.    You are all very sweet and kind. 

I am in quite a bit of pain and discomfort and the reality of just what I have ahead of me in terms of recovery is hitting.  I’ll need about 6 weeks to recover from the surgery itself and it will be a couple of months after that to then hopefully receive therapeutic benefit from the procedure.  I will hopefully be able to regain some normal activity before that point.  Spanking activity is still very much up in the air, but I’m putting any question of that very much on the back burner.  For now I just need to focus on the very basics such as being able to regain the ability to eat and walk and things like that.  However, just because I can’t play, doesn’t mean I have to sit quietly on the sidelines.  I still hold true to my promise to blog on topic in the meantime very soon.  Just wanted to give this little health update to let all know that I’m still here and intend to kick some health recovery @$$.

I’m off to the hospital for surgery so don’t worry if you don’t hear from me for a little bit. You never know what I’m liable to say when on pain meds! When I get home in a few days or so, my mom will be staying with me for a while so I’ll probably still be somewhat limited in how much online spanky stuff I can engage in, but I’ll be sure to stop in and say hi.

I’ll update the Punished Brats site as normally scheduled, but may just be a little quieter on my blog for a bit. But I’m sure I’ll be thinking up some fun new topics as I go stir-crazy in recovery.

I’m glad lots of folks seemed to have fun with the interactive story.  I think it’s time to close this one down.  Perhaps we can do another one in the future.

Whew!! I finally finished digging my way out from under the pile of editing from the Lorraine and Beverly shoot.

I now just have to work on the Pixie’s Previews video clip and I’m all set. But I can take a breather for now and play on my computer here and there for a bit today.

And so, as promised, I want to kick off the interactive spanking story idea I had mentioned in my previous entry. Now, this sort of concept is / was very popular on some spanking story and discussion boards, but I have yet to try it out on my blog so I still consider it experimental. It could go well and prove to be lots of fun for all or it could become a clumsy mess, a closed post, and something I opt not to do again. But that’s all part of the fun in experimenting and seeing what the outcome is. Ready my fellow spanking lab partners? Grab your white coats and test tubes and let’s give this a whirl.

A couple of posts ago, Richard had mentioned this idea for a blog topic:

“As for blog posts, how about a fantasy one? Pixie has landed in an English country house, what images does that bring to mind? Who are you, when is it, who else is there, what happens?”I’d like to turn this into a storyline fantasy that any and all who wish to participate can join in on the fun.  I will start off the story’s premise by describing the setting and others are encouraged to aid in the development of the plot by adding their input in the comments section.  In order to keep it fair and running as smoothly as possible, there will be some general rules and guidelines:

1. The idea is to get from the initial setting description to having me end up crawling into bed at the conclusion with a sore, warm bottom at the end of the story’s night. 

2. You may write yourself into the story in the role of any sort of character, any age, etc. in the comments section.  Your character can then interact with any of the others already created.  (I only say this so that somene who doesn’t wish to participate isn’t shocked to see themselves written into the storyline without permission.)

3. Although I fully expect the storyline to be a bit jumpy and jagged, you must base your entry on the previous comment entries.

4. Limit your entries to one fairly concise paragraph once per day.  This is to allow others the opportunity to participate and to prevent any one person from completely overtaking the story thread.  It may be tough to wait sometimes, but that can be part of the fun of not being entirely in control and having to patiently wait to see what develops.

5. It’s a fantasy so totally unrealistic occurrences are fine.  You want to write in an unexpected visit from the Smurfs?  Ok, fine.  You want a paddle to magically appear in your hand?  Sure thing.  But I ask to keep these fantasies out of the general squick zone.  No touchy-feely during a parental spanking, no shagging with sheep, etc.

6. If at any point the storyline takes a twist that I am truly uncomfortable with, I reserve the right to pull the alien abduction card.  That means I will write in that aliens from an alternate universe have come to beam me up to another planet and I am completely out of the story.  Most likely, I will close the post at that point too.

7. Anyone that seems to be purposely and or repeatedly breaking the the guidelines will not get the cyber spanks they are after.  They will get corner time in the comment moderation queue!

It’s barely approaching dawn and Pixie is snuggled deep under the covers of her bed when she feels a gentle nudge on her shoulder.  “Hey, get up!” a voice whispers.  Pixie opens her eyes and blinks to see a girl a couple years older than her holding a feed bucket and tapping her foot.  “You  overslept again.  Get going or I’m going to tell Mother.”  The girl thrusts the bucket at Pixie and walks out.  Pixie rubs the sleep from her eyes and takes in the dimly lit modest country home surroundings before hopping out of bed and …
