I had heard that stores like Home Depot could be hazardous for a spankee when shopping with a spanker since there were so many objects that could be fashioned into makeshift implements, but I never thought Tractor Supply Company would be. I assumed they’d have … well … tractors and other equally boring stuff. But it turns out they have lots of home and garden supplies as well as a fairly good sized tack shop area. And what tack shop would be complete without riding crops.

My boyfriend bought a very pretty blue riding crop to use on my bottom, but promised that if I absolutely hated it, we could turn it into a cat toy or something. Although I’d felt a rubber crop during my last Shadow Lane shoot and found it to be interesting, I was already planning how to dangle toy mice from the end of it.

It turns out though that I loved it. I guess I had some negative feelings about crops before because they didn’t seem to fall into the tidy categories of domestic or school style implements. They seemed scarier. Darker. Edgier. But when used like a cane, the feeling was amazing.

Firm yet flexible, it left hot lines criss-crossed over my cheeks. The little bit of leather at the tip of the crop adds a tiny bit of additional sting as it smacks my bottom a fraction of a second later leaving exclamation point like marks. The marks show up as bright red lines as the warmth spreads over my bottom, but quickly fade again before the next round.

My boyfriend seems to be enjoying using the crop as well. He’ll come up with any excuse he can to turn me around for a few swats – rolling my eyes, taking too long on the computer, dropping his bagel butter side down on the kitchen floor, and on and on. Lucky me!

A topic of discussion that frequently comes up in my Pixie-mail correspondence is what are my favorite and least favorite implements. Such a simple question, yet I find it difficult to answer. There isn’t one particular implement that I’ll happily hand to the nearest spanker for use on my bottom, nor is there one that I wish to drop into a pit of molten lava. This is not to say that I’m completely neutral with regard to any and all implements. I have my opinions and preferences, but they are far more subtle than “I hate ____” or “I love ____” and to add to the confusion, so much depends on how the implement is used as far as severity and accuracy of the spanker. But in any case, let’s take a look at the various implements I’ve experienced and see if I can sort out my feelings about each one.

I’m going to have to break this up into multiple posts because there are a lot of categories and sub-categories of implements to go through and I tend not to be brief in my discussions as it is. To start off, let’s take a look at some of the classic domestic implements.

Hand – Sometimes I don’t think of the hand as an implement. Not because it isn’t effective, but simply because when I think of an implement, I think of a separate tool used for a specific purpose. But in the case of spanking, I suppose the hand is made into a temporary implement to be applied to a nearby naughty bottom.

The hand is special in that there is skin to skin contact between the spanker and spankee. There is not necessarily anything erotic or sensual about this contact (though it certainly could be if it’s that style of spanking being given), but there is almost a nurturing aspect to the hand to bottom connection. Also, the old phrase “this is going to hurt me more than it will hurt you” is somewhat accurate in this case as the spanker’s hand feels every punishing slap too. There is some level of comfort and safety in this as the spanker gets immediate sensory feedback on how hard each blow being delivered is.

The hand is also … errrmmm … handy since it’s always there. No having to go fetch it, find it, pick it, etc. It’s always at the ready.

The hand spankings themselves can vary greatly though depending on the size of the hand and the intensity in which they deliver the spanking. No two seem to be exactly alike. David Pierson has a notoriously stingy hand for example while Dallas’ hand is more like a thuddy paddle. Both will get your attention quickly though.

Hairbrush – Such a lovely domestic implement. It’s nice in that no one would know that it’s used far more on the bottom than on one’s head (unless you happen to be a bald gentleman with an extensive collection of brushes – then people might wonder).

Brushes can vary greatly depending on how heavy they are and what material they are made of. Plastic tends to be fairly light and stingy. Wooden ones can range from mildly stingy to very thuddy. I like being spanked with hairbrushes because I feel relatively safe when one is being used. It’s easy to aim, control, and land on target with reasonable accuracy – no wrapping or likelihood that bits other than the cheeks will be spanked accidentally.

Bath brush – The bath brush is like the hairbrush’s evil cousin. Often a bit bigger and heavier, they have a long handle making it easy to administer the spanking while standing or OTK if the spanker chokes up on the handle. No matter how it’s done, it always spells OUCH. I’d say comparing plastic hairbrushes to plastic bath brushes and wooden ones to wooden ones, the bath brush is about 1.5 times worse (heavier/scarier/ouchier) than a comparable hairbrush. Again, a lot depends on the person wielding it, but my anxiety level jumps a few notches when I see one of those suckers in my near future.

Note: The bath brush featured in this photo is the from Vermont Country Store. This one gets a rating of five out of five ouches from me.

Belt – Thin belts tend to leave searing lines of fire whereas wider belts spread the impact out a bit landing with a solid “whump”. I prefer the wider variety as “whump” is more my style, but also because the wider ones seem to be a bit easier to control leading to fewer accidental encounters with the meow meow. I like the even red stripes of a well executed belt strapping, though it seems that the cheek further from the spanker gets the brunt of the punishment. Attempts to even things out by striking only the closer cheek can sometimes result in the folded over end of the belt landing right along the very sensitive butt crack. Whether intentional or not, this always leads to a loud yelp followed by lots of “ImsosorryIllneverdoitagainIpromiseforeverandalwaysowieowieowies”.

Spoon – The wooden spoon may not look like much, but it packs a nasty sting. We got a bit of feedback on a scene we did at Punished Brats that featured a wooden spoon spanking in which a couple of viewers felt that it wasn’t very hard and the reactions weren’t genuine. But I guarantee you that Holly would very much disagree with that statement and most likely if the ones commenting were in Holly’s position, they’d probably quickly come around to her way of thinking. A spoon may not make a loud sound upon impact and does not need to be swung from overhead to make a significant impact on the recipient’s bottom. The painful sting is felt superficially, but it is an intense burn that had poor Holly, who actually picked the spoon as her implement of choice for that scene, greatly regretting her decision.

Lots more implements and ouch factors to mull over, but they will just have to wait until the next installment. Up next time will be paddles of all sorts.
