In a previous post, Kelly commented about the slipper being one spanking implement that was a total personal turn-off. She wondered if it actually hurt, but her main displeasure was with the thought of a dirty sole being used on a bare bottom. Tim assured Kelly that the slipper does indeed hurt but I noticed he couldn’t put her mind at ease about the dirt factor. LOL.
I have not (yet) felt the sting of an authentic U.K. slipper, but I have been spanked with a Keds sneaker which to me looks similar. I can only attest to the rubber sole of this canvas low top sneaker making a thuddy impact coupled with a hornet’s sting. Here is a photographic evidence of my run-in with the evil footwear back along. At least it was a newly purchased shoe without any icky street dirt on the sole.
For those that are more familiar with authentic slippers, are the gym shoe variety similar to the Keds featured above?

Any thoughts about the ‘dirt’ factor? Personally, I find the thought of a street worn shoe applied to my bottom less icky than the thought of a wooden spanking spoon being used to stir spaghetti sauce. Just to be on the safe side, let’s eliminate any chance for cross contamination and ban the use of either item as a spanking implement. I assure you, it’s only in the name of health and science.

The plimsolls I used to wear in school had no laces and would have made an excellent spanking implement as the heel was narrow enough to be firmly grasped and the sole was long, wide and thick enough to be effectively swung. Well, mine were, but I have big feet. Alas my childish innocence failed to grasp this until I was well into my teens and out of plimsolls. The dirt factor is a pertinent observation though; after all, what caring dom would risk the bottom of their sub with possible infection as the result of a lively session?
As for your proposal of banning both implements, I say nay! Purchasing spares of each should be ample enough to observe safety and maintain domestic harmony. Although your spanking spoon stirring spaghetti sauce would certainly add a rich flavor to the recipe. The secret ingredient is spanking love?

I knew people male and female who got the slipper in the 60s in the UK. More often then not it was dads or mom’s ordinary slipper. Plimsolls were a school thing in my experience.
It was often related to me that the person who got the slipper was sent straight to bed. Wonder if I got my pyjama fetish from all these tales.
When you are fully recovered Pixie I really think you should try this typical method of punishment from England of the 50s and 60s.
But then again I would suggest that wouldn’t I.

i never had the ‘pleasure’ to meet with a slipper as a receiving party (in my childhood, where spankings were the law and exceptions from spankings considered strange). From a reliable source i have been assured, that when daddy swung his full leather house-shoe/slipper to said persons behind – clothed or bare – the receipent was wishing they would die instead. the beatings were so horrible, that even the strict mother would plea her husband not to kill the child with the slipper. my source also told me, that after a dose of the slipper, they were black and blue for 2 weeks to come. of course we are talking the 1940s here.
I have used a shoe of sorts on occasion, however i prefer sports-bath pantolettes like these (www.th-sports.de/catalog/sport-pantolette-p-259.html) which are about 5-10 euro in 1-euro-stores (7-15 dollars), no need for expensive brands. I do wear those but indoors only, so the icky factor should be out of play.
as stated before, prior to use of any implement on my girl(s), i test it against my own thigh, so i know what i am putting them through – and i admit also to enjoy some of the sting myself – and the full rubber thing is very wicked. it is a dreaded implement for sure. what makes it extra convenien, is if you slip it on your hand, so the loop is around your back of the hand, and you can use it for a hand spanking that wont bruise the spanker… yeah we spankers are so tender (evil grin), well after application of that slipper thing, the bottom is tender too.
and Kelly, i understand that you would feel icky about the dirt on shoes, but i am appalled you would not feel the same way about microwaved food. talk about icky!!! energetically dead products, calories without benefits. yuck!

I’m not a big fan of implements that impact a young lady’s bare bottom with a thud, preferring instead the crisp note of supple leather, like a nice, bendy belt. Of course, mixing it up once in a while with a nice sturdy wooden hairbrush is always a good attention getter. I think I’ll leave my slippers in the closet when they’re not actually on my feet.

Hmmm. Germ-hater here! That being said, a new (never had a human foot in it or taken a step) slipper can be used. A wooden spoon can be sanitized after touching a tush and before touching spaghetti.

Dear Pixie,
The solution, of course, is obvious. Don’t cross-contaminate. In other words, if you’re going to use the U.K. “slipper” or a wooden spoon to spank with, use it ONLY for that reason. Don’t wear the slipper. Don’t cook with the wooden spoon. Keep them in the “toy bag” and only use them for spanking purposes.
That solves the dirt issue.
Those rubber beach sandals, btw, also make for an extra-ouchy spanking implement…..just in case any one was wondering or knows someone who tends to misbehave on the beach…..

IMHO … The slipper or any other name you might call it doesn’t interest me much except in a historical/informational way. The psychological aspect of spanking is important and since I have no recolection of ever being punished with ANY sort of footwear nor any friends that were either .. there is no association with any memories. Having viewed a few clips of spankings using some sort of slipper, I have always felt that there wsn’t much weight to the impliment and thus the spanking was not very painful or otherwise REAL. I could be wrong but it just appeared that way to me. British style spanking in general … I.E. swatting with a circular motion where the hand impacts the bottom from the side and actually just brushes the bottom cheeks with the hand ending up in front, seems odd to me also, and thus appears to be “fluffing” the bottom instead of spanking. It is possible that I am totally wrong, and that the British style and impliment is more painfull than I imagine, but I have no previous memories so the “head” association wouldn’t be there.
I sincerely hope you are close to a full recovery. It is selfish for us to complain that we miss the old Pixie SO MUCH … but we do.
I know from being recently ill myself that it is very hard to recover quickly .. and sometimes our loved ones cease to give us the spankings we so desperately need to feel “normal” again but I sincerely hope that you are getting all the help you need to recover.

My head is swirling however, and therefore i spin off your idea to its full extent.

In my eyes using a shoe for a spanking shows disrespect for the spankee. I know that this seems to be seen different in England but in many other countries throwing a shoe is a sharp sign of hate (remember the shoe which was thrown in direction of the former US president?).

I agree with all who have expressed distaste for the idea of having any street-worn footwear applied to a bare bottom. If a slipper is going to be used for spanking, it should be one that is worn indoors only — or perhaps never worn at all.
The only more disgusting spanking implement I’ve heard of would have to be a flyswatter. The times I’ve read someone’s childhood memories of getting one of these on the bare bottom, I’ve thought, “PLEASE tell me it wasn’t used to swat flies!” If reserved purely for swatting bottoms, it sounds like a potentially viable implement, and I’d be interested in trying it out. But if it’s recently had fly guts wiped off it — eww!!

The whole shoe idea seems strange to me, but rubber really stings…so does plastic. They’re very dense materials. I bought a cheap pair of tennis shoes at one point just to have one since I have almost every other type of spanking implement, but have never used it. The previous comment that an old worn well flexed shoe would sting more certainly makes sense, and I’d never thought of it before. I’m sure you could take one out of service, clean it thoroughly and it would be fine. I like the idea of cutting away the upper and leaving just the sole.
I can’t imagine any difference between english and American.
Certainly a trip to the dishwasher would solve the spaghetti sauce problem.

I don’t know about the Girls Physical Education department but the Boys P.E. teachers in High School in Los Angeles in the 50′s and 60′s used to use a Keds sneaker. The only time I have ever been on the receiving end of a slippering was in some form of a public place–restroom, parking lot ect.
In the past, it has been more of an impromptu spanking due to a behavioral issue =P in a public place. My spanker had nothing else to use besides the shoes on her feet.
For the record cheap plastic flip flops are horrible and so are think plastic kitchen spatulas. You know the kind I am talking about? @ “Pixie” – As long as the sauce is boiling there should be no dangerous contamination from the spoon. My mom used to use a very large but cracked wooden spoon that had been retired from use as a cooking tool. Speaking of “the dirt factor”, the heavy wooden paddles with holes that were used in many schools stateside weren’t washed between “customers” and were sometimes used on the bare! Shoes are often used simply because they are available (and also throw-able). The brand new bright white shoe in the photos with your pretty white (pink) bottom doesn’t look like it has been used for anything else…perhaps you can send it to me?

To following along with my previous comments about my “spankdar” going off in Kohl’s…..we have separate implements for everyday use in plain site and others used exclusively for spanking that are hidden and behind locked doors; although the vase by the fireplace has a very nice arrangement of rattan limbs that I bought at Pier 1 imports, (or it’s a very hand source of canes depending on how you look at it).
I’ve never used a shoe to spank with, I have nothing against it just haven’t. Maybe little princess dani has the right idea with using a bar of soap as a distracter; maybe I’ll try that the next time I hear a random “f-bomb” come out of my lovely spouse’s mouth. Thanks dani!

The slipper/shoe etc. does not hold any appeal for me. It just seems more comical than serious, and it looks like it would be either too wimpy or too thuddy to serve the purpose. I never even thought about the dirt factor before, but eww, that is even more of a turn-off.
And, no, I don’t think I’d want my spaghetti sauce stirred with the same spoon that just smacked a bare bottom! But the answer to that is simple, in my kitchen the tephlon spoons are for cooking and the wooden ones are for spanking. No cross contamination risk.

One last comment from me. I tried searching for slipperings on the net and found a few. I also got the hubby to administer some spankings using some of the slippers and sneakers we had in our closet. We didn’t really have guide lines on the “correct” slipper to use so we just used what we could find. The light weight (just or mostly material material) version didn’t seem useful unless the hand was placed inside the slipper and then it just amounted to a slipper shaped glove. A “Keds” style sneaker seemed akward although it did provide a sting…..
The final determination is that (IMHO) this is not a PREFERED impliment that we would ever use for either a sensual or disciplinary spanking. The (large .. lol) hand of my hubby is much more readily available and also much MORE effective … as well as mutually satisfying.

Kelly – I generally try not to have to cook much at all! I hate it. I will cook on the stove in bulk and then freeze items for later to nuke when I’m short on time, but it’s still a dreaded chore. I’m not sure if I’d hate getting spanked with a spoon or having to cook with one more.
tim – Ahh so it was a real gym shoe but not one that had been run in. Makes sense. And with such a thick sole, I imagine it packed quite a punishment while retaining the modesty of the miscreant.

That’s a terribly frightening view of acts that go a bit beyond discipline and spanking in my book. 40′s or not, that’s abusive. :-/ As with any implement or even the hand, it’s not the object but how it’s used that makes the difference.
Excellent point about making sure to test out an implement on yourself before applying it to anyone’s backside. That is a sign of a good top in my book!

Chase – Oh heck yes it does. I spent a while chatting on forums and then in email, by phone, etc with people I’d become friendly with online. When I took it slowly like that, it usually was a positive play outcome. When I jumped in and gave my address out to a guy I’d met online only an hour into our chat, that wasn’t so good. Take your time and be patient. Participate on the forums and communities you’ve found and get to know the people a little. Also consider attending one of the several spanking parties that take place throughout the year in various locations.

PIxie, while never having been spanked with a slipper, I always thought people meant the type of bedroom slipper with a leather sole. I can only imagine how that would sting!!!!!!!!!!!! I was shocked to discover that it was really.(in uk) a type of gymshoe!!! lol, still think a leather soled “slipper would hurt (sting) more. how about you have someone spank you with both, then report on it? I’ll be the first to volunteer to give the spanking!!!!!!!!!!

LOL. Nice article. We Brits, in general, adore slippering our girls! I have never thought of the “dirt factor” before, we tend to have an old slipper, or plimsol like you had featured specially used for punishments so they aren’t really worn out in the streets!
From my experience, American girls I’ve spanked tend to fear the “slipper” and the cane even though British girls fear the wooden paddle more, maybe we whack them hard withthe paddle, i don’t know, but I’m interested in the differences we have.
be nice to see more use of “the slipper” though… it’s my fave instrument of correction

Always an old one – one that had been retired, i.e not in current use. Mostly from the lost property i think!

footwear is a no-no for me as I like to kiss the bottom better after a spanking. the thought of dirty slippers etc is a turn off.
