I’m a big fan of Post Secret – an ongoing community art project in which people mail their secrets anonymously on a homemade postcard. Most mornings I check out my favorite spanking blogs and forums as I dig into my oatmeal, but on Sundays, Post Secret comes first. I am often touched by the thoughts and experiences people share and how they choose to express them on a postcard. I smile at the witty observations and wince when I feel someone’s pain. And when someone posts a secret close to one of my own, I feel such a sense of community knowing I’m not the only one.
There are a lot of secrets that we keep when it comes to our love of spanking. How many of us have kept our interest in spanking a secret from friends, family, or even tried to deny it to ourselves at some point? And there are secrets and thoughts about spanking that we may not have shared with others; not even fellow spankos.
Inspired by Post Secret, here are a few of the spanking related digital postcards I might have submitted. Nothing too outrageous since I’m not able to share anonymously if I’m posting them on my own blog.

So true … passing racks of kitchen spoons, mixing paddles, flat plastic ladles, wooden cheese boards and cutting boards – are there any with the perfect handle/swat-surface ratio? Hair and bath brushes area of a store – same thing … it just comes to mind … what would Pixies butt, or my own, feel like / look like if we got spanked with that? Panties on, panties off? what a beautiful additions. i didnt know anything about that tradition, maybe cause i dont blog at all, well aprt from clogging yours that is. my favourite is the hair brush one. i admit i always get stiff (heehee) when seeing bath brushes, especially funny when we get the anual hair dressers catalogue… they have so many there! whenever i neter the wholesale cash and carry shop i must check out the cooking section. they have the chefs equipment … and the biggest cooking spoons you can imagine… both plastic and wooden ones. when i am alone in a bathing isle of walmarts i test their bath-brushes against my thigh… (sigh) guess i am into this…. ok i need a shower now, tyvm.
as for wondering about other spankos at the check out, check out their carts, it maybe will give it away
maybe one of these days i will send you secret not so secret postcard to your snail mail addy. ooh these possibilities.

Glad you’re out and posting again. I always read your posts and decide whether I have somethiing useful to add when I decide to leave a reply…or not. I wasn’t going to butt, (yes I spelled it wrong on purpose) I just walked through Kohl’s near my house. OMG I stumbled into a spanko’s dream! The people at the food network are def people of kink! I found slotted bamboo spoons, plain old bamboo spoons, plastic and wood spatulas! They were wide, they were narrow. They had long handles and short. It took all my self control not to go running over to my spouse with my “find” to try them out
I’ll be shopping there again soon!
I saw Juliet and Beverly are back! Yay! Two of my alltime favorite PB models, I hope they are back with PB again for a long stay.

Often, while in traffic or out at some other public place, I’m curious…

Any time commuting near the University of Pgh’s campus bookstore my eyes always gaze at the front window displaying humongous fraternity paddles. I went in one day to the back room and saw hundred of wooden paddles of all sizes and shapes. Felt a bit awkward standing in front of the wall displays for awhile mentally sizing them up but most likely no one at the counter even noticed.

My behavior regarding passion for spankings ranges from blatantly alluding to needing a spanking postings on Facebook to trying to bury my desire when there’s no appealing spanking prospects.
Here’s a prime example of reckless “coming out” at it’s finest. In 1998 I worked for a company when at XMAS time we all filled out Secret Santa gift wishes. I jokingly requested a spanking as one of my choices. I worked with all women. Some thought it was hilarious, some were appalled. I took good natured teasing for a bit after that. I never implied I wanted spanked by any of THEM! lol!
The job prior to that had massive downtime and the internet was just becoming prevalent. I used to surf spanking websites practically all day long. My boss knew I “surfed the net” but never implied any specific sites.

I frequent dollar stores a lot and I’m always considering the spankability of hairbrushes (of course), kitchen implements, cutting boards, children’s bats and paddle-ball sets, etc ……… all for 1 dollar.
Sometimes I’ll place a few in the cart … sometimes I’ll even smack one against my palm or if I feel I’m not being observed I’ll quickly smack my leg or even the right cheek of my butt. (Blush)
I usually end up placing most of the items back since I’m afraid the cashier (a possible spanko?) will realize the intention of my purchases and SAY something or .. maybe just a knowing smile!!
I often wonder if I’m being clever at all and MAYBE the security cameras are capturing every move and there is some security guard in the back saying, “There’s that SAME girl again and IF she ever trys to leave without paying for something … I won’t be calling the police … I’ll HANDLE it another way! (Blush … LOL)

Hi Pixie; glad you’re back home, and feeling better. Like other people who have posted, I can’t walk past hairbrushes in stores, or wooden spoons, without wondering how much they would sting. ( I have even purchased same, and a bathbrush, with no intention of using them for anything but spanking. Same with riding crops at dressage stores, I don’t own a horse ! LOL )
I also have spent a lot of time looking at pretty women’s bottoms, and wondering they are spankos like me. I guess that’s part of the fun, and why we have imaginations.

First, I’m glad you feel like posting (but you’d better not be pushing yourself, young lady! )
I was recently helping a friend (and sometime employee) prepare for a yard sale. We came across a wooden bath brush still in it’s wrapper that she decided to add to the for-sale pile. I don’t have any reason to think she’s a spanko, but I have occasionally swatted her bottom and teased her about spanking her, so she may have a clue about me. And when I told her I’d be interested in buying the brush, she gave me the strangest look……
But I got the brush. It’s got a nice weight to it. It’s in my guest bathroom, but I don’t think I’ll be using it for scrubbing….
I think many of us, upon feeling the spanko urges, thought we were weird. And alone. Fortunately, with the Internet, we still haven’t dis-proven the weird part, but the alone part is definitely not true. {grin}

Now…about that checkout line……A few years ago I was shopping in my local Wal-Mart…and found the most lovely wooden spoon. I had never been spanked as an adult at the time but knew that one was soon going to happen. I thougt it would be sooo much cute to have a spanking spoon. Wellll….when I was checking out..the clerk..a lady in her mid 50′s..rather no nonsense in actions…picked up my spoon..and SMACKED her palm with it….and said…loudly…so that all could hear….”that would make a good paddle”…..I blushed…and looked for a hole to swallow me…..then..stammered….ohhh..uhhmmm…that is only for stirring sauce in tall pots……then..quickly paid….and pratically ran from the store!! It was a good thing I had my receipt…I am sure I looked quite guilty of most anything the security guys would want to imagine. LOLLLL…I did get my spanking..and it was with my spoon…and it did make quite an impression on my bum. Smiles…after that incident….I would always look for that particular cashier….and several times did get in her line…….I never did ask her if she ever purchased one of the spoons…..

Last Christmas I bought a cute t-shirt from CafePress that showed a vintage Santa telling his delighted, 60s sitcom Mom-looking wife to “Bend over, it’s time for your Christmas spanking”. I love to see people’s reactions when they read it, because even though it’s funny and innocuous, and ‘doesn’t mean anything’, some enjoy it wa-a-ay more than others and beam like the sun in response. The “grocery store cartoon”, I swear, must have been drawn by someone who read one of my emails to one of my spanking playmates, or maybe we all think it?
I found a profile on the old “spanking.com” of stunning young women who it turned out lived just a few miles from me. We started to exchange emails, and learned that her place of work was just less than a mile from a location that I attended on a weekly basis. Which made me write ” I wonder if we have ever passed each other in a grocery store, both thinking the same thoughts, never having any hope or realization that the other was also thinking thoses same thoughts or longing for that mutual expereince”.
At least “young people” today have the internet to let them know that they are one of many, and that their desires and needs are not all that strange. So hopefully, they can be more comfortable, more accepting and more at peace with what can be a safe sane and consentual and also healthy, happy and wholesome aspect of their sexuality, rather than something that they find troubling, confusing and an obstruction to their relationships.
I don’t think we need to have a bummer sticker that proclaims we are into spanking (but if you have one, I am happy for you), or have it be the first words out of our mouth in everyday conversation. Likewise, I don’t think it needs to be something that we are ashamed of or need to hide in the back of our closets either.
I think spanking may be very much like fucking, you don’t usually see people doing it on the street corner, but there is a lot of it going on, if not in peoples bed rooms, at least in people’s minds.
Its sad that so many have had inhibitions for so long about “coming out to play”. Butt I think that is changing, and it is changing in large part because of sites like “spanked brats” that has a positive and healthy depiction of spanking. So, thanks Pixie, for showing people that they can be good with who they are, even if we will never know why we are the way we are.

Like just about everyone else here I have a fixation with flat-backed wooden hairbrushes: Every time I see one, I can’t help speculating on how it would sting to be spanked with it, as well as how effectively I might use it to redden a young lady’s bottom. I have similar thoughts whenever I look at a rack of belts in a department store: Which ones would be best for giving or receiving a sound and thorough strapping? And the thought has occurred to me: How many other people passing through here experience the same intense cascade of thoughts and emotions, from looking at something that to others would be no more provocative than a display of neckties? (I also can’t see an old-fashioned school desk without imagining someone — either myself or a penitent schoolgirl — bending bare-bottomed over its slanted surface, waiting nervously to receive punishment.
My workplace is the setting where I’ve speculated the most about who else might have this interest in common with me: Thinking about both my coworkers and the population I serve, I wonder which of them, like me, have their minds on spanking for at least some of the time every day. I remember when I was a teenager, and how weird and perverted and ashamed and alone I felt. I sincerely hope that, with the internet at their disposal, any current young people with the interest don’t have to think of themselves that way.
I’ve written here before about how, for me, disclosing my spanking interest is sort of a barometer for how close and comfortable I feel about a friendship. When I feel that someone has become part of my “inner circle,” I start to feel the need to share my “secret” more and more strongly. Sometimes I still feel my heart pounding in my chest as I build up to saying the words — but that feeling doesn’t happen as often as it used to.
This thread, however, has made me realized how much more relaxed and casual I feel about the subject than I did when I was younger. I used to feel self-conscious when anyone would say the word “spanking” (in any context) around me, and I would never say it myself in conversation. Now, I just enjoy hearing it, and will say it without hesitation if there’s a reason to (usually in a discussion about discipline of minors, not consensual spanking of adults). At this point, with people who don’t know I have the interest, I don’t think I mention the subject any less than would someone for whom it’s not a “trigger” at all.
Actually, the only reason I concern myself at all with being “found out” to be a spanko is my job: If I didn’t work in a profession that receives a lot of judgmental scrutiny, and in which many people would instantly assume terrible things about someone with any sort of “kink,” I doubt at this point I would care much who knew and who didn’t. I wouldn’t go out of my way to advertise my spanking interest, but I wouldn’t put significant effort into hiding it, either.

I can’t walk past the hairbrush aisle in any store without stopping to look at all the lovely wide, flat backed brushes and wondering what each different one would feel like. If no-one is in the aisle sometimes I end up touching the brushes, comparing the thickness, the material its made out of, how sturdy the handle is (wouldn’t want it to break while in use). I bought one the other day, just because it had a nice rubber-cushioned handle, which would absorb shock and protect my hand while I’m spanking someone. I’m a wimpy top, I don’t like it when my hand stings, even though I love the same sensation on my butt. The cooking utensil aisle is another hot spot. But whats even worse is when I’m at someone’s house, and they have that ceramic cup of wooden utensils sitting on the kitchen counter. My eyes will keep being drawn to it, and I will wonder, secretly, if they have ever used them for something other than cooking! I never ask though, unless I already know the answer. While its great to have internet blogs to share my thoughts anonomously, very few people in my everyday life know about that secret part of me.
