Despite the snow-delayed ending to my trip, my vacation was wonderful. My husband and I took a cruise to the Bahamas where we enjoyed an all too brief glimpse of sunny skies and warm temperatures.
As I predicted, I had a hard time letting go of PB related duties at first. While we were still close enough to land to get a cell signal, kept checking emails and annoying David by making sure they were being forwarded to him as needed. I also read through all of the scene suggestions for my upcoming shoot with Lily Anna and also reviewed general requests posted on my blog and sent via email. During my flight to Florida, I managed to write up all of the scenarios and plan out the shoot schedule (I’m really excited about what we have in store!!! More on that at a later date). Once that was done, I had a sense of relief and although my thumb twitched from iPhone deprivation the remainder of the trip, I was able to kick back and relax knowing everything was in order and in good hands with David.
Now on to some quick photo highlights from my cruise.
The ship may not have been as big as the last one I was on, but it still looks pretty darn impressive to me!
The first outdoor adventure we had planned was clear bottom kayaking. Told you there’d be paddling!
Sadly we didn’t see any fish swimming underneath our boat, but it was still lovely surroundings and I’m never going to complain when soaking in blue skies and warm sunshine.
As we chartered back to the main ship, I continued to take in the views.
My husband took a moment to appreciate a view of another sort.
Our second stop in the Bahamas was equally as lovely. The waters were a little too chilly for my taste, so we skipped the snorkeling and went on a nature hike. I can’t say there was much to see though.
Except for a stray chicken …
and a quick glimpse of the moon.
One of the most exciting moments for me was when my hubby and I participated in a ”Name That Tune” contest back on the ship. We happened to wander in just as the competition was getting started and never thought we’d have a chance of winning. I am absolutely horrible at remembering artist names and song titles. But this contest was on television theme songs and amazingly enough we tied for first place. A tie breaker was in order and we were called down to the center of the floor along with the other first place team. One final theme song clip would be played, winner takes all. Since there were no buzzers, we had to make an animal noise to announce when we had an answer ready. After all of five notes were played, I was jumping up and down barking like a hyperactive puppy because I could name that tune.
I’d like to thank Laverne & Shirley for helping me to win the awesome prizes of a luggage tag and magnetic refrigerator poetry set. LOL!
Our final stop in Key West was much cooler than the Bahamas. As you can see from the photo with the statues in the last post, I was dressed in jeans and three shirts, but it was still a lovely day at a really neat place. We have already started planning to visit Key West again for a short stay when it’s later (and warmer) in the season.
After all, as this sign points out, they have the right attitude.
As we finally made our way home after the snow delays, I saw that Rev Run of Run’s House and Run-D.M.C and his family were on our flight. I elbowed my husband and whispered, “hey, that’s Rev Run”. He whispered back and said maybe Run was elbowing his wife and saying, “hey, that’s Pixie.” I laughed, but I do wonder if anyone has ever recognized me and just never spoke up. I know I’m not anywhere close to being a star, but your never know who might have stumbled across my blog or web work. Occasionally someone will come up and say that I look familiar and ask where might they know me from. I just smile and say I have a very common face and probably remind them of someone they once knew as I’m just a shy girl from a small rural town after all.

Pixie,
I have to admit that I enjoy your vanilla writing as much as all your coverage of spanking. You’re a pretty good writer and not a bad photographer. I noted that you were on a RCCL cruise ship ( maybe the Explorer or the Liberty)though I couldn’t see clearly which one. However, if you like RCCL I would encourage you to try their other line, Celebrity. The little extra you pay is well worth it in all the extra perks. Glad you enjoyed your trip and feel free to post more pics about the trip.
We are getting ready to leave on our 30th cruise for spring break.

Did you get to see Hemingway’s house in Key West? That place was great, especially with all the cats roaming around.

Pixie,
I agree with Scunge, you are definitely a star in our world. And if I see you in public, I’ll be discreet, but it ain’t likely I’ll be buying the “common face” ruse.
Glad you had and enjoyable vacation and hope you soaked up enough vitamin D to last you through the remaining NJ cold.

The picture of your moon reminds me of that other picture when you were wearing a black dress. When I look up to a clear, starry and moonlit sky I still remember that picture and your lovely, pale moon!!

So glad you were able to get away for a well-deserved res – er, vacation, and that nothing was left nagging you to be completed. Of course, you found winter right where you left it: long and cold. Sorry we couldn’t offer you our usual warmly hospitable Florida weather this year; at least you weren’t stuck in Miami International and were able to scout out your next vacation destination. As always, and like everyone else, I can’t wait to see what you’ve come up with for the next shoot, and what you’ve made of all the suggestions. I just hope the weather cooperates.
