Today was a perfect day for the beach. Hot day, sunny skies, warm water, and not overly crowded since it was a weekday. But since I have to be careful about how much sun I get, I ended up spending much of my time hiding under the SPF 100 umbrella and repeatedly applying sunscreen. Still, with a shoot coming up with Dallas at the end of the month, I need some tan lines, so I worked my way to the edge of the umbrella’s shadow and made sure my bikini covered bottom got at least a few minutes of sun. But I quickly decided it’s best to stay in the shade where I belong. After all, I know I’m going to get spanked hard no matter what!
Well, I’m afraid I need to keep this a short one, but I wanted to be sure and post something today. I’m off to rinse away the salt, sand, and 11,000 layers of sunscreen!
Edit: Well, since this isn’t a usual full on topic post, I think I might just add a few other random thoughts that I probably wouldn’t turn into a full post anyway.
*1* I have a twitter account, but I have tweeted all of maybe 3 times. I feel badly that others have done a search and found me there because I never update.
*2* I get overwhelmed sometimes by trying to keep up with the blog, emails, upkeep of the PB site, and then at least attempt to play on Myspace and Fetlife a little — which basically means answering more messages and occasionally posting a photo or two just to keep things fresh. I am a bad myspacer becasue i do not go and leave notes on people’s profile and my page is boring. I’ve heard about spankolife, but I think I may need to cut back somwhere else before I do that. Maybe leave fetlife to join spankolife?
*3* I love the color yellow. It’s such a happy color. I even like wearing pretty panties that are yellow so I was very bummed a couple of years back when I heard a well-known spanker that I greatly admire say that they do not like yellow panties. They can be any color, but not yellow.
*4* I have a really cool mom that just sent me two very short plaid skirts. She even enclosed a note stating that these may not be worn out of the house. 
*5* I have to take my poor ol’ car into the shop tomorrow and decide whether it’s worth getting repaired or if it’s time to look for a new car. Have to do one or the other soon because it cannot be a good sign when a car makes a noise like a dying rooster when you back up.

aha, common sense prevails.
i’m not sure why tan lines signify but surely a bright white bottom will show the effects of a spanking better than an overall tan.
depletion of the ozone layer has made sun exposure more problematical than it was in the 40′ & 50′s.
for generations a dark tan was a status symble for the idle rich & wannabe’s. many of them paid a very heavy price. those lucky enough to dodge skin cancer looked like prunes after 40 or so. swim all you want but stay in the shade the rest of the time. and use strong sunblock even when swimming.
i’ve seen the results, lost my favorite aunt and several female friends.
this not for you pixie but for the young girls who may think a deep tan is cool.
hope you had a few crusts for those gulls. i used to get stale loaves of bread free and go to my beach and feed the gulls. in notime i had them taking crusts from my fingers. maybe an idea for a nature pic?

Ah, one must suffer for one’s art. I’m not sure how a tanned bottom ‘tans’ when compared to a whiter one, but it makes sense that the latter displays the color more. Sounds like an interesting experiment that should be put to the test! But you seem to be rather like me in that you and I share a Celtic heritage and are both somewhat fair skinned. I don’t tan well either, although my arms are quite brown from working outside in the Florida sun.
I quite agree that online interfacing can get out of hand. It’s all I can do to check my inbox once in a while. I can’t be doing with all these things like facebook and myspace. And I love yellow! It’s bright, cheery and summery. Don’t be disenheartened by another’s opinion, just agree to disagree and wear what you like. And I certainly like those skirts of yours as, I’m sure, does your hubby. And I’m sure you and he can find plenty of occasions to wear them indoors!

Spankolife is not very active and it’s glitchy. The forum can go for hours without a single post. So I would suggest sticking to Fetlife, because there is so much more going on and so many of us spankos are already there.

Thanks for the recommendation to stay at FetLife. I have enjoyed getting to know the wide variety of people there. I’ve heard a lot about spankolife lately and thought they were on par. I’ve been asked if I’ve joined yet a couple of times but I’ll stick with FetLife for now.
ddon – Dallas loves tan lines! I’m not sure what they necessarily signify either other than looking nice and highlighting the spanking target.
D – I’ve always burned easily and I’m also on a medication that aggravates that condition so I have to be super careful about how much exposure I get.
I haven’t let the opinion about yellow slow me down. I just think of it each time I put on a pair, but then shrug and wear what I like. As for the skirts, yes, my husband did say they were quite nice!
luvinit – I can understand your concern but the single lovetap I received from my husband was delivered in front of his dad, not mine. The inlaws aren’t ones to chat with each other even if the swat had been something that was truly brow raising. My mom has been shopping with me before and knows my love of plaid and that even as a little kid, I’ve always loved skirts and dresses. I really don’t think they know about my spanking adventures as if they did, they would have asked me about it, straight out. It is something that I at times am concerned with and is why I do my best to protect my privacy while maintaining an online presence, but to date, I think it’s still under wraps.

At Punished Brats have you ever discussed a video with an historical theme? Many spankos are fond of the birching scene in Lady Jane. I actually own a pretty good reproduction of the U-shaped chair used in that scene. Every time I stroll around some RenFest I feel inspired.

any cotton, satin, soft cloth pants are fine with me if the colors are pale pastels. black and dark colors as well as strong prints like plaid or paisley can obscure the natural flow of those wonderfull curves. white/creme are my fav’s but but any light color is fine with me. of course plastics, and neons, and frills and lace have their fans and i wouldn’t deny anyone their pleasure.

My rule on cars is that when it costs more in a year to repair than you would be paying in car payments, it’s time to let go. I’ve had cars over 200,000 miles, but when that car’s transmission went ($4,000) and then a month later its engine went (another $4,000 which I didn’t pay), it was time to give it up. Whether you buy new or used, get a very fuel efficient car because we’ll be back at $4 gas within the next two years.
Be careful about burns. Or let the burn be someone’s hand. I’m lucky to have the type of complexion that tans within five minutes and never burns, but yours in not that type. My ex-wife developed melanoma this past year. Thankfully they caught it early and there was no spread. But that’s the biggest danger from the sun

Mrcat – Good to know!! I’m still on FetLife and I’ve gotten to interact with some very cool people there. I just feel bad that I’m not able to get there and play more often.
tim – I know SIN quite well. I’m no longer an active member, but I’d agree that it’s a fun forum. I never got into the chat room feature that much.
Isolde – A historical themed scene would be fun though sometimes the setting proves to be difficult. Since we shoot in a modern home, we would have to be very careful not to let too many of the modern amenities show. I think we could do as far back as the 1950s without too much trouble, but much further than that would take a lot of planning. Orrr, going back a bit to my previous piece, people will need to temporarily suspend their need for absolute realism. I saw on another blog where someone commented that a minor decorative detail in a home used for a historical scene was not of the right time period. While impressive, I couldn’t believe that was the focus when lovely spanked bottoms were on display.
Jack – I always have fun with Dallas. My buns just don’t necessarily agree.
ddon – you’re not a fan of plaid? Eeep. I have to say I love that pattern as it reminds me not only of classic schoolgirl uniforms (which go hand in hand with spanking!) and kilts. Plaid forever!

Scunge – No, my car doesn’t qualify for the clunker program. It’s not quite that old. It just has high mileage from when I worked in clinical and had a very long daily commute. I hope you had some fun at the family reunion. Vanilla time can be enjoyable too and then you also have lots of nice spanking stuff to catch up on when you get home.
Terri – I heard from the mechanic and the horrible noise wasn’t indicative of something too awful after all. A small piece of the brakes’ weather covering had come loose and was scraping when I backed up. It’s good to have checked out cars though as I may still want to invest in a newer one soon, but it’s good not to feel pressured to do so immediately. I think that seagull was annoyed that I was taking his picture as he tried to clean himself. I can’t blame him. I’d be startled too if a seagull was taking photos of me as I showered.
Keagen – As afraid as I am of what the next Dallas Plus Plus Special Extreme Squared might do to my body, I’m afraid more of getting sick from the sun exposure and the awful effects that has on my body even more.
CurtisG – The car I have my little heart set on is fairly simple and definitely fuel efficient. Hopefully I can get hit a good inventory close out sale and then I’ll be all set before gas prices go too nutso.
I ended up with a slight burn and felt pretty poor the next day even having stayed in the shade and slathered in sunscreen. The beach is no place for someone with sun sensitivity, but I love the ocean. It’s not fair when you love the outdoors and it doesn’t love you back!!
I hope your ex-wife is doing ok.

Another appointment with Dallas! You must really feel the need to be punished – or is this onenot related to real life misdemeanours? But to acquire tan lines first – while highlighting the target area is a little superfluous, I would think. He might like them, and viewers might enjoy the contrast when the panties come off – but it would be far mnore dramatic to sdee the effect of one of his spankings on a pale untanned skin! SpankoLife was launched June 1, 2009. So it obviously can’t be as large as FetLife.
It is growing by about 50 spankos per day (about 3000 members until now).
The server bandwith has been taxed because it grows quicker than expected. A lot of new features will be added over the next 6 months.

(Not sure if the tide has finally moved on at this point, but I’ll give it a shot.) I’m for anything you can do to give yourself more time to explore and enjoy the world around you, whether it’s the natural world or the various artificial worlds we’ve overlaid upon and interlaced through it. So much of what you share with us comes from your extra-PB activities, be they Spanko-related, vanilla, or otherwise (e.g., Cause for Paws), that we would all be the poorer if you had to cut back in places for lack of time, but you must do what makes the most sense. (I know that if I never ventured out into the world there’d be so much inspiration I’d miss.)
I agree with JuJubees in that you do an amazing job in just keeping up with your blog. You not only go to great effort to come up with thoughtful, well-written topics on a regular basis, but also almost religiously answer each of the increasingly numerous comments individually in a sort of perpetual Feedforward-Feedback cycle that puts us in touch with one another (like a big, sometimes boisterous but ever growing family) on a level that I’ve so far not found on other blogs.
Regarding D’s comment about a “tanned” bottom vs. untanned: There should be no need for testing because, as I recall, Juliet frequently had an all-over tan and I noticed that it seemed to take quite a while for the redness to become apparent during a scene. As for that Top who’s so against yellow panties, perhaps he was a bed-wetter and he’s projecting his own baggage?
Isolde, while I prefer Sting’s version of “Fields of Gold,” I’ve always found Eva Cassidy’s arrangement to be hauntingly beautiful, made more so by her untimely passing. “May the jealous sun ever warm the place where she lies in fields of gold.”

Winchester – Sorry your summer isn’t very sunny. We’ve had some gorgeous days lately. Of course today it’s so humid out it’s like soup, but there are pretty blue skies.
I enjoy working with Dallas. We do try to find r/l incidents to use as the basis for the spankings. I’m trying to think of what I might have to offer this time.
Right now the car is running ok after the repairs. I still hope to get a new car in the not too distant future since my current one has a lot of miles on it from my old commuting days. Hopefully I can hit a year end clearance event!
Phil – I’m sure my shoot with Dallas will be fun but very intense as always! I will be working with Clare and Chelsea too. I’m very much looking forward to seeing them all. My bottom has mixed feelings about it though.

I love having the blog and the interactive nature especially as of late. But I do sometimes have to get away from the computer too both to get a break as well as to have adventures so I’ll have something new to write about. I’m trying to be better about striking a balance without guilt.
Juliet was very tan, but I was actually surprised how much color she’d show considering her well sunned buns. I think because she was not spanked much outside of our shoots, she was able to get a nice shade of red after the hand spankings. I can only imagine how glowing she would have been with pale cheeks to start with.
