For those of you that are stateside, I hope you’re enjoying your Memorial Day weekend. I got a little jump on the holiday when the hubby and I headed down to LBI (Long Beach Island) for the day on Thursday. It was absolutely gorgeous, but surprisingly chilly. The ocean breeze made it about 15 degrees cooler than it had been back in my little Cowtown. I shivered in my shorts, but loved taking in the beautiful surroundings on such a clear, sunny day before the crowds flocked to the beach.
I’m holding off on making a regular blog post until after the holiday – both because I’m sure many of you are out enjoying the long weekend with friends and family and because my own vanilla plans have me short on time. I have an on topic spanking post that I’ll put up in a few days and I’m tossing around an idea for a longer, more personal post about blogging that I hope to have composed sometime late next week. No promises on exactly when the latter will be ready though as the warm sunny days are making it harder and harder to stay glued to my computer.

Hi Pixie!
Have a great weekend. I just love your pictures. You’re a wonderful photographer!
Enjoy!

Loved the photos but where is LBI? Googling LBI just gets me pages and pages of search results for http://www.lbigroup.be, which is one of the biggest marketing and web design companies in Belgium (which seems to indicate that Google is region sensitive). I have often had conversations with my face to face American friends about using acronyms for locations in the USA, I’m sorry but those of us not from the US have not got a hope of knowing where you are talking about, when Google fails us.
Sorry about the gripe, it is just an old bee that keeps buzzing in my bonnet.

Pixie,
Been really enjoying your vanilla photo gallery and hope to see many more in the future. Enjoy your well-earned holiday and come back tanned – in all the best ways – rested, and ready.
Spankedhortic, perhaps this will help in the game of “Where in the World is Pixie San Diego?”:

Sorry to cause you so much distress Prefectdt! Honestly, I didn’t even think much about it because here even when we are referring to this particular location in face-to-face conversation, it’s generally called LBI (El Bee Eye) rather than the more formal name of Long Beach Island. I’ve added the full name though to my blog so that others that aren’t from around here will know what I mean. Thanks!

Pixie,
Sound you you need a laptop with a bright screen so that you can write your blog and be outdoors enjoying the sunny days!

Thanks for the link ^Mike, it was very informative.
Ms Wells, I would like to apologize for my little out burst and thank you for the amendment to the post. I do enjoy your vanilla adventure posts.
Living in a place where EFL’s (usually spoken as “Effels”, English First Language Speakers, Americans, Brits, Australians, etc) tend to gather from time to time, we do tend to realize how much the English language is diversifying and how something normal from one country is totally incomprehensible to someone from another country. We very often find ourselves reminding each other that “Your talking Greek now.”. I cannot say that I am not guilty of doing this myself, it is totally incomprehensible to me that not everyone in the world knows where Silly mid-off ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fielding_(cricket) )is on a cricket pitch.

Great shots as usual. Love the spiral in particular. Sorry I haven’t commented in awhile…I’m a teacher and it’s been silly season.

Those are two extremely trusting birds! The seagull is so cute! And I love the way you managed to capture the other one looking at the camera, he looks so curious.

Yet another splendid photo spread!
Where exactly is Long Beach Island? The Garden State?
Either way, it’s utterly beautiful (much like your good self), and, to borrow jan’s pun, did you get ‘terned’ over a knee for a few illicit spanks? It would have warmed you up, I’ll bet!
Have a great weekend!

Pixie,
I love your outdoor pictures. I especially love the lighthouse and bird pictures you recently posted. I just watched your video with Susan using the strap on you and I think you should have told her that you were looking for gum. Everyone knows you love gum. Hee Hee, well, anyway, loved the video. Have a great Memorial Weekend. Don’t forget the sunscreen. Renee
