In the comments section of the interview with Veronica post, Alexandrea asked if I had plans to be caned by V since it’s her favorite implement. I have been caned by Veronica once and I’ve done a couple of other caning scenes with David, but generally we don’t often use the cane much in our scenes on Punished Brats. Scenes that feature other implements such as the hairbrush, paddle, the belt or simply the hand tend to be more popular with our members.
I personally enjoy the cane – well, as much as I can enjoy something that delivers stinging lines of fire across my bottom. The sensation is unique. There is the initial stinging impact and then a much deeper burn that flares up a few seconds later. I’ll desperately want to reach back to soothe away the pain and quiet the buzzing sensation, but that is generally frowned upon mid-punishment.
When I finally am able to rub and look at my disciplined bottom, my senses are treated to aching raised red ridges. I prefer to be caned on the bare on an unspanked bottom so that the ridges will stand out as vibrantly as possible and I can admire the precisely placed tram tracks of a well executed caning.
Aside from the marks they leave, canes can provide some pretty intense visual images all on their own. Who wouldn’t feel like a naughty student at the sight of a crook handled school cane? And how can you not be dazzled when discipline meets art resulting in a magic spanking wand of sorts?

I certainly understand though that everyone has their own tastes and preferences, so share with me your thoughts on canes and caning. Do you enjoy giving or receiving the cane? Do you enjoy watching scenes that involve the cane? Do you enjoy a shorter yet very intense punishment in which 6 – 12 strokes is considered plenty? Thanks for including my questions to Veronica and also for taking the time to blog on them as well. I must admit to a love hate relationship with the cane. Last year was the first time I experienced the cane and it was totally mind blowing and wonderful not to mention totally painful as well. I do enjoy watching a good caning scene because it is not run of the mill, and the person applying the instrument is the one who controls the tempo and the severity of the punishment. Not to mention the lovely and vivid stripes it leaves, like a good old fashioned belting. One thing about the cane that I enjoy is the sound it makes as it slices through the air before it makes contact with the bare skin. It is one of those instruments that hurts like hell if you tighten your bottom up before the impact.
Also with the cane you get the influence of a London school girl in skirt and knickers. I hope I am saying that right. I do have the video where Veronica applys the cane to you- it is one of my favs too. I also like shorter, harder caning scenes in which there is no doubt that the bite of the cane is felt not only in the bottom but also throughout the entire body. Not to mention the position one usually assumes, bent over at the waist with the bottom in full view, or having the naughty school girl bent at the waist touching her toes. (That was how my stepmom always positioned me for my paddlings.) I do have one last question as I quit my rambling here, have you ever been caned over a tight pair of jeans? I find that the sting can be just as vibrant as on an already punished bottom.

Canes are problematic in that I don’t feel that welts and bruises etc are something to cover a bottom with. I know some spankees actually ENJOY having “reminders” that last for days, but I really prefer a glowing even shade of pink and red as opposed to welts etc. I recently witnessed a caning scene where the skin was broken and yet both parties consented to keep going. I honestly found this very disturbing, but so long as it was understood that both parties agreed on this, I wasn’t about to say anything.
Now having reported all that, I should point out that I have one spankee whom I adore who enjoys being caned. To keep us both happy, I learned how to use the cane in a sensual rhythmic style which allows her to feel the sensations and experience some nice stingy impacts but keeps the ridges and swellings down to a minimum. So far it’s worked out very nicely for both of us.
Canings on video tend to be extremely severe, but they tap into that fantasy of providing extreme discipline. I’m sure a lot of people are fans of seeing intense discipline that leaves the spankee in genuine tears and caning taps into that like nothing else. While it makes a great fantasy on video, the reality of it is that breaking a spankee’s spirits tends to end a good relationship.
So to summarize, I would say that the cane has its place, and yes it can be a fun scene no question, but I wish the physical damage it left wasnt so severe. Of course on a beautiful bottom like Pixie’s, I can see the appeal of a few small marks

The cane is a brutal weapon. In the wrong hands, it’s capable of tearing the flesh asunder, leaving lasting, ugly scares. The very thought of it turns my blood cold, as does the nearly sadistic air in which its stern application is often delivered in detached premeditation so typical of English punishment, especially in their schoolroom scenes.
The birch switch is the only implement I have experienced that is anything remotely like it, and that was when I was a child of seven or so.
One overcast morning I set out in search of the perfect birch rapier, which I was going to use on myself. I spent several hours hunting the back lot adjacent to my parent’s property until I found the right implement, which I then carefully trimmed. I bared myself and laid over a fallen tree, pausing ceremoniously before delivering the first cut. Oh my god did it hurt! The birch burned my white, naked flesh and made my eyes water involuntarily. I stood up abruptly to rub my bottom and to rethink my determination to experience a “switching.” After a minute or two, I lowered myself over the tree again, clenched my teeth, and began to whack away, forcing the unbearable pain from my mind, as I did my best to ignore the rain that began to fall.
After ten minutes or so of this self-torture, I struggled to my feet, threw the birch away, slumped to my knees, and then laid with my pants around my ankles in the tall grass bent double by the weight of the rapidly falling rain. I felt cold and wet. Eventually, I pulled up my soaked jeans and shuffled home where no one seemed to noticed my condition.
Since that time, I now skip over or bypass any scene featuring a care, whip, or ridding crop, preferring, instead, chastisement delivered with the care and warmth of a good, but firm, OTK spanking, using either the hand or a small paddle of some kind. I now prefer to leave the cane to the English who seem to treat it as a national treasure of some kind.

I was scared witless of canes until I moved over to this side of the Atlantic, where they are all nuts for it. I have to say a hard cold caning hurts more than any CP I’ve ever experienced. It’s one of the few things that has made me cry…I think the pain is more shocking than any other implement, and that’s what gets me. No matter how hard I think it is, there is always that moment of utter disbelief as the first stroke bites in. There’s something really brutal about it.
In public, though, if you add the adrenaline of showing off, it can be really magical. I can take three times the strokes I can take at home, and glow the whole way through. It’s my favourite implement for big public scenes.
There’s something special about taking a caning off an expert who knows what they are doing, where you can count on each stroke being evenly spaced and exactly the same strength (until the last, double strength one, of course.) The main unpleasantness I’ve experienced from a cane has been when someone missed their aim and caught me on the thigh or the side. The joy of a great caning is in the control…on both sides. The control of the caner, and the huge and exhilarating self-control it takes for me to hold perfectly, perfectly still and not make a peep. I’m never prouder of myself then after I’ve taken a hard caning well.
So all in all, hooray for canes.

I too am a devotee of the cane and have applied it to one of my spankee friends quite often…I enjoy resting it on her bare bottom soshe can anticipate when the next severe blow will descend…
Depending on whether she has been spanked beforehand, I will vary the number of strokes she receives, but if it is only a caning she is getting…it can go one for a longer period of time……
There are some other women I have caned as well…some are receptive and others shudder when the see the “wicked” implement coming out…depends on whether it’s a disciplinary spanking or casual party type fun spanking…but either way…they get the full measure of the cane…..

Pixie, you are very brave, being caned on an unspanked bottom. I guess that’s more authentic, given that schoolgirls don’t get warm-ups, but oh my god, it hurts so much. I prefer the cane to be at the end of a spanking, the finale that puts me over the edge when I’m already well tenderized.

Yes the cane cane be brutal in the wrong hands, and often at school it WAS in he wrong hands – of sadistic prefects who sought to really damage the poor kids they were beating. There was never a warm up – and it was never bare either- though PE shorts gave little protection. The classic pose was over the back of a chair, bent right over so that the seat of the trousers was skin tight. Touching the toes was a position almost impossible to hold without falling forward with the weight of the stroke. Yet for all that, there is a nostalgia amongst many, myself included, for the cane, its stripes and its raised welts. Incidentally, 8 was the maximum permitted number and was rarely used. 2, 4 or 6 was more usual. The victim was always expected to display his trophies to his peers – but sadly, even in those conditions I have obsereved drawn blood, and horrednous bruising. Chloe’s video (borrowed from Richard Windsor’s site) shows scenes from a caning club somewhere in London. I don’t know how recent, but matbe a place I ouhgt to visit somewhen….

Don’t like the cane that much, really. To me it creates too much distance between the spankee and the spanker.
When I see canings with many strokes, it creates a strong impression of being “fake”. Knowing that “six of the best” were basically considered enough for hundreds of years. So that seems to have itself engraved in my mind…
Six hard strokes on a bare ‘cold’ bottom must feel evil and I don’t like thinking (or seeing) spanking as “evil”.

Down south it’s called a switch. I received both the switch and the belt growing up, and unsurprisingly these are the two implements I don’t care for in consensual adult play.
Switchings sometimes have this ritualistic feature: the victim is required to select the switch from the forest, and if the selection is not stout enough, the punishment is increased. I’m not sure if this actually happened to me, or if I’m supplying this from a mixture of literary accounts and/or friends’ stories.
I do remember for sure that I was switched on the legs, not the rear end, and that it hurt like hell.
Also keep in mind that a switch (“rod”) is favored by biblical literalists.

No canes for me. I could neither give nor receive, and I don’t like watching caning scenes at all. The cane just seems too violent to me and I don’t like marks. A rosy glow is much more appealing than stripes. I prefer loving discipline, in which the spanker takes great care not to harm the spankee. To leave a mark would feel like a violation of trust. A “caning” is not the same as a “spanking” in my mind, it’s just too business-like and impersonal. A longer, less intense punishment is much more enjoyable for me than a quick, severe session that doesn’t establish any rapport between the 2 participants.

My wife says that I don’t need any implement (my hand does the job nicely), and will not have anything to do with a cane, so I have had no experience with one.
I think that I have several videos with caning scenes in them (prefer spankings scenes). My favorite (by far) is the one with Eve Howard in “Crossing the threshold”. She plays a naughty schoolgirl and Ann Bowman gives her 6 strokes on the bare bottom. The only complaint (I’ll told Ed Lee) is that there is no close-up of her bottom afterwards when she is standing in the corner.

Hi Pixie. Love your descriptions. I remember when I first discovered such a thing as spanking entertainment. It was British, so the cane was often featured. I didn’t like it much. It wasn’t “spanking”. My American experience was with hands, paddles, hairbrushes, belts, and straps. I’d heard of the switch, but it was used in an area of the country I was less familiar with. The cane seemed pretty harsh, as well, leaving those nasty raised stripes. Just that sound it made cutting through the air sounded, well… cutting. Too much.
Since that time, caning has grown on me. It’s still not my favorite, and I’ve never had a chance to use a cane (or felt one), but I do like seeing it in moderation. I don’t like the Eastern European stuff, where girls are whipped and left with ugly purple stripes covering their butts, thighs, hips, and even up the back. And broken skin is definitely not what I want to see. There’s a limit to the amount of suffering that makes something good discipline and not torture. I do like when a limited number of stripes (generally six) are adminstered with precision across and on only the lower half of the bottom. No wrapping around on the hips. Nothing on the thighs. I like that each stripe given represents something very meaningful and intense. That a naughty girl would have a desperate wish to reach back with both hands to rub that little line of fire seems like almost perfect discipline to me. I like that the stripes are visible for a time, and that they remain tender for a time. I happen to like well-defined marks left on the bottom, and cane marks can look very pretty if neatly painted by an artist with a skillful stroke. If I was in a position to have use for the cane, I’d feel strongly compelled to master it.
The idea of applying the cane like a spanking implement is also appealing. As mentioned here, one doesn’t have to deliver full strokes, where each is experienced as a separate sensation. Lighter, rapid strokes could be applied to create constant stimulation, anywhere from a tolerable stinging to an intolerable blaze.

I’ll watch a caning scene, if kept short and succinct, every once in a while as long as the story or scene theme is interesting. Like a number of commenters here, I too find that the majority of caning scenes in (non-PB) videos are usually over-done and thus unrealistic and gratuitous. The caning you’ve pictured above, Pixie, looks like it would be interesting to watch, but many others degenerate into bun-beating fests. Personally my tastes run to the more traditional spankings that don’t leave a few welts but, preferably, a thoroughly red bottom:

AS for caning , to me that is not a spanking, it is more like
a beating any time the buttocks get cut or bruised so bad that
that the subject takes days to heal.As far as I am concerned
a spanking is otk and the bottom spanked with moderation.
I know a lot of people will disagree and say the punishment
must fit the crime,but to break someones skin goes beyond
spanking.(just my own opinion)

For me, I like seeing scenes where young ladies, in your words “desperately want to” do something else, but instead are bending over to get spanked. Some of the scenes that I particularly enjoy include those where you are gritting your teeth and clenching your fists and still eventually cry out.
Some of the recent scenes with paddles and hairbrushes have been very good. Watching the scenes with a cane (thinking about the last part of the clip you posted for your fund raiser for the animals) the cane part did not look particularly severe, perhaps because it is small, or requires less effort by the person wielding it, the visual impression is not as great? I don’t know.

Well having implored Chloe to share her thoughts on the cane with us on her blog, what a treat to see you do the same thing at more or less the same time.
I just replied to Chloe’s blog piece with my full thoughts on the cane and although she hasn’t posted them yet, you might want to do me the honour of checking them out when she does (and if she doesn’t she will be in for a very stiff dose of the cane!). But suffice to say that this particular voyeur loves to see a naughty girl like you getting a jolly good caning. It is also good to know that All American Girls such as you and Chloe are so partial to our good old English cane!
I had wondered why it is that you and Chloe have done so few caning scenes and it does intrigue me that many of the Punished Brats members don’t seem to like the cane. I am guessing that this might be because your members are primarily US based and hence don’t come from a caning tradition, unlike we Brits, many of whom experienced the cane during our school days. Likewise I am surprised by some of the comments here about the cane being “too brutal”, given that the wooden paddle strikes me as being an altogether more blunt and clumsy implement. I would imagine that each swat of the paddle impacts a large area of the buttocks, which must surely mean overlapping swats and much deeper bruising. By contrast cane strokes can be precisely placed, so that the stripes are placed evenly over the naughty girl’s bottom. I therefore contend that the cane is a far more subtle and less brutal implement than the paddle.
So tell me Pixie, where do you stand on the cane versus the paddle debate? In fact maybe this would be a good subject for another blog topic?
