Often times, if the spankee is being shown any mercy, a warm up is delivered. The warm up can start with swats over the pants, then on the panties, and finally the spanking progresses onto the bare bottom. Therefore, a spanking can be intended to be bare for the majority of the time, but is not immediately bared. To me, this still constitutes a bare bottom spanking. As for the thong, I can see both sides. The cheeks are still bare, and the swats will feel the same even if the thong is taken off, but the spankee does not have that humble feeling of being completely bared. If the spankee is bent over without a thong, they are more embarrassed as everything is visible. So, while the swats are essentially going to feel the same (thong or no thong), the spankee’s mindset can change if the thong is removed.

To my way of thinking, A bare bottom is a bare bottom
most scenario’s of bare bottom spankings/canings begin in various background of place. I.E Kitchen, sitting room, bedroom, bathroom, school room, principal’s office, place of work, secretary’s in office’s etc etc. The only possible place where a bare bottom spanking from beginning to end would be the bathroom or bedroom. all the other locations means undressing has to take place before the bare bottom is exposed. in quite a number of scenario’s the undressing plays a big part. otk, skirt whacked, then raised whacked on panties, then the real spanking takes place on the bare already chastised cheeks. touching one’s toes, over the back of a chair all likewise the undressing leads to the bare bottom being thouroughly spanked/caned/hairbrushed

A bare bottom spanking is more humiliating than with a thong. With the thong all that is bared is the butt. When the thong comes down everthing is bared. The girl being spanked is further humiliated by knowing that anyone watching may see everything especially if she is standing , bent over a chair, or when she gets on/off her spanker’s lap. In an OTK spanking where her feet are off the floor she has to try to keep her legs together while being spanked. Further humiliation can occur if instead of pulling her panties down she is naked below the waist or totally naked.

IHMO, a bare-bottom spanking is one that only needs to end with the naughty one (like you) pixie, my dear, lol having panties down. it need not start bare. also, I think thons may be left up to be considered as bare-bottomed. of course, I believe that all spankings should be ended up bare, including sensuous, or “play” spankings. I think that a bare bottom spanking is one that the majority of the spanking is given on the bare. Whether it starts out over clothing I don’t think really matters. Should thongs be removed? Hmmmmmm, it is funny how I knew how I felt about both of these issues until I started reading everyone else’s responses. I think I would agree with Sandy that it definitely still feels like a bare bottomed spanking because a thong definitely does not provide any protection, but I think for it to be a “legitimate” bare bottom spanking that the thong should be lowered also.

Interesting question. I would never have thought there could be so many different views on it.

I have spanked alot of women in my lifetime and although they didn’t all start out barebottom, they always ended that way.I personally feel that whether you start out with yuor panties up and then get them pulled down after afew spanks, it is still a bare bottom spanking.I prefer to spank a bare bottom and when I spank a young lady, nine times out of ten it will start out on the bare unless she prefers that I don’t and then I would respect her wishes but most of the ladies I have spanked over the years wanted it on the bare bottom from the start.So as I stated, I feel if the spanking ends up bare bottom it would be considered a bare bottom spanking.

Pixie, what a great question.

To me, a spanking is a bare bottom spanking if the spankee’s bottom is bare for the majority of the spanking. I can’t believe I’m getting into percentages here, but….

If the last two or three swats were bare, I wouldn’t consider that a bare bottom spanking. But if the early swats were over clothing, and then the majority of the spanking was hand to stinging bottom, I’d consider that a bare bottom spanking.

I think it’s unlikely for only a few spanks to be on the bare bottom. Seems to me that once a spanker has bared my bottom, the spanking intensifies and goes on and on. lol.

Occasionally, I like the feeling of my panties being whisked down and the spanking beginning, quickly, in earnest. But usually, I like the gradual approach because I like – when possible – lengthy spankings, and I’ve found that gradual baring and a long warm-up usually equals a longer spanking and a higher intensity.

I’d feel cheated if all my spanking started off bare. I love the flip my tummy does as each layer is taken down. And I like not knowing when and how it will happen. As the spanker takes control of my bottom, my submissiveness grows.

There’s really no easy answers to this thing we do, so many different likes, dislikes, experiences.

As far as thongs: I’ve worn thongs at clubs and parties because I’ve played with strangers or people I don’t know very well, and I don’t want to go bare.

No easy answers here. lol.
