Signs of Spring

March 20th, 2009

Although the night time temperatures are still dipping below freezing, Spring is definitely in the air.  I’ve been very busy tidying the yard and getting the garden ready for fruits, vegetables, and flowers.  The next generation of Horaces have already begun to sprout.  (Who’s Horace?  See here.)

I’ll be expanding my fruit and veggie garden to include other crops besides the abundance of tomato plants and the few scraggly strawberries I had last year.  I plan to try raising peas, carrots, and blueberries!  Mmmmmm.  Oh yeah, and I’ve also agreed to grow some green beans as per my husband’s request.  I may or may not remember to water them.

Aside from green sprouts and chirping birds, one of the early signs of Spring is the stirring of woodland pixies awakening from their long winter’s nap.  Hikers, maybe you can spot one seeking warmth on a sunny rock somewhere along the less traveled path.

    Hi Pixie!

The sound of a vegetable garden, including string beans on an automatic drip system, certainly quickens my pulse; it’s all those yummy fruits and vegetables at dinner time that really makes my day! And, yes, I often see “woodland Pixies awakening,” if only in my mind’s eye, something many passing hikers miss to their unfortunate loss, but not ours! ;)

Wonderfull picture, but what happends to your hair? Where are the curls?

  3. crystal

    hey Pixie darling

    you are freaking gorgeous

  4. D

I find the notion of woodland pixies awakening quite ‘Pixie-lating’!
Really must get up to the Garden State one of these days and try my hand at Pixie watching. Perhaps you can clue me in on the best spots to zoom in on.
And I volunteer to help you remember to water your green beans. My Grandmother always used canes for hers and who am I to go against family tradition?
PS You look great with straight hair!

  5. Poppa Mark

One of the best pictures of you I have ever seen. Absolutely gorgeous.

    Hello Pixie
If you are working outdoors please remember to stay away
from the Poison Ivy and the Brown Recluse spiders.I worry
about you when you do your gardening Please be careful.
That is one nice picture of you on the rock, I wish I lived
in your area, I would certainly be out hiking every day looking
    for a woodland Pixie.
    Have fun and take care
    Love AK

Thank you for that nice picture. It is really overcast and dreary here in Los Angeles (what happened to Sunny California?).

Good luck in your shoot tomorrow. Why are the two bottom photos in March 7th Pixie’s Previews “out of focus”? I tried reloading the page a couple time but they never cleared up.

    Hi Pixie,

I’ve been living out my spanking fantasies thru you and your friends for the last month or so when I happened upon Punished Brats. You guys are enjoyable to watch and it seems as though you are all having a great time doing it. I am in Dentistry, not near as fun, but we do see alot of great smiles.:) I just might have to become a member. Thanks for all the great scenarios. Renee

A lesser-known fact about woodland pixies is that, in order to properly emerge from their winter hibernation (interrupted only by the occasional dalliance with snow pixies), they must be vigorously warmed on their bottoms, not unlike newborn babes. Unfortunately for the species, being of a mostly solitary nature, they are often forced to seek warmth on the surface of rocks which, at this time of year, are themselves still quite cold. A wise and experienced woodsman would be well advised to apply “heat” in the appropriate manner, thoroughly and often, to each pixie he happens upon lest she become a very mischievous creature, given to playing naughty tricks on unsuspecting mortals.

Have a great shoot tomorrow, Pixie, and break a brush.

    Pixie,

If only I could find a secluded spot like you have in the picture where I could revert back to the tiny woodland creature inside, running and frolicking to my hearts desire with the warm sun beating down letting me know the first day of spring is here.
I am sooooo envious of the freedom you have that we in the city can only dream about.
Another GREAT picture by the way!!!!

Ooh, spring planting! My favorite time of year! Although I recently moved to a warmer climate and now can have different plants growing during each different season all year long. My culinary herbs and flowers are doing well, but I think my Cherry tomato plant is going to die. It’s setting fruit, but all the leaves have suddenly started dropping off. Oh well.

Good luck with your garden! Hope everything grows well, and you enjoy lots of fresh fruits and vegies this summer. And if you don’t want the green beans to grow, try attracting lots of birds to your yard. I remember the birds would always pluck all the tiny bean plants out of the ground in my Mom’s garden and she’d have to keep planting more of them. I think the birds used the plants for nesting material. Just a thought!

    You know it’s spring when…

  13. Schwarz

Amen! As an obsessive cyclist I am ready for winter to be over. It was so cold this winter I probably only got 1500 miles in. So bring on the warm weather, and in my hikes and bike trips it would be nice to see a Pixie out and about….perhaps on Duncan Knob….

Your garden sounds lovely too. I hate vegetables, but my family loves them and I love my family so I do gardening a lot and actually enjoy it. I do feel the way you do about the green beans though…YUCK!! So I hope your garden does well as I hope everything else goes well with you.

Have a wonderful day! Oh yeah, that picture….very beautiful! Wunderschön!

On a technical note, when I click on the top picture, it does not enlarge but goes to a weird “404″ page that has some dodgy looking links on it.

Spring is great it is so nice to get outdoors again without twenty layers of clothing but I’m not sure that I would go as far as you have in that second picture yet :-)

Isn’t it amazing? I’ve been pottering in my yard garden for the last couple of weeks now. This is my first year of gardening but planting has brought such a smile to my face. I’ve got a few seedlings I planted in January which are already wanting repotting. It’s so good to connect with nature. I’m loving it! :)

  16. dana

Is that what a woodland pixie looks like? I see I need to do a lot more hiking. :)

Very, very lovely, Pixie. Good luck with your garden, and remember that good little pixies eat their green veggies.

  17. Spankedhortic

Picture fixed, thank you. We are probably in a minority but there are some of us who are interested in how your seedlings are doing :-)

Also water the green beans and when you put them on
the table your husband will owe you big time. As aways love your post Dont work to hard Bye Bye Ed

You always have the best nude photography on the entire web, Pixie. I still say you should consider the art exhibition route :) Glad the garden is going well. Best wishes for lots of harvests.

  21. Jeff

Pixie – you are so damned gorgoeus, even when your bottom is lily white. What photographic talent and a photogenic being!

  22. Tom

In my world, the only Pixies I see are in my dreams.

  23. Dr. Ken

If she forgets to water her husband’s green beans, the pixie may find “warmth” sooner than she expected!

    Naughty_Ney–
Please do join the Punished Brats site, Renee. You won’t be sorry! It’s one of the best, if not THE best, out there! I’ve been a member on and off for a while now (usually for three months at a time)and I keep coming back for more….

    Dr. Ken

  25. Schwarz

To reinforce what Dr. Ken said, join the site. If you want you can read the post on my blog called “little becomes a lot.” In that post, I give a little review of the site(Punished Brats). Just click my name “schwarz” at the top of this reply. I intend to get more reviews up, but don’t have the time. Though like I said, the PB review is there.

Annapurna – The waiting for my little sprouts to become fruiting plants is the hardest part! It’s so exciting to see the little green shoots coming up, but then I remember it’s still going to be four months or so before harvest time.

kaiser – The curls were only very temporarily flattened. I had my hair trimmed earlier that morning and I’ll often have my stylist straighten it just for fun after a cut. But as always, the curls bounce back with avengence as soon as I wet my hair.

    crystal – Thank you. :D

D – Canes for growing green beans? Little spanko veggies!

Poppa Mark – Thanks so much. I’m very flattered.

AK – Yeah, along with warm weather and sunshine, spring brings lots of potential itchy dangers. Let’s see if I can make it the whole season without running into poison ivy. I suppose running around in the woods naked is courting trouble though.

Charlie – The photos were posted as blurred images only because we didn’t have written releases for the new models on file yet. I’ll often post a blurred picture to give a hint at what they might look like though. The shoot on Saturday went well, but unfortunately the new female spanker, Betty, backed out of the shoot. There is a new (clear!) photo of new spankee, Lavender, up on Pixie’s Previews.

Naughty_Ney – Thank you. :) Glad you have been enjoying the previews on our site. We do have a lot of fun doing the scenes … even when the hard spankings we’ve been doing lately aren’t so fun to receive!

^Mike – Woodland pixies are indeed warmth seeking creatures. Whether it’s the sun or spanks, the increased heat makes them very lively.

Linde – yes, that is one of the major perks of living out this way. Lots of quiet places to explore. So just as long as you don’t mind having to drive half an hour to get …. well, anywhere, then it’s perfect. :D

TigerLily – Truth be known, I couldn’t deliberately kill even green bean plants. I want the little guys to grow. Plus, if the birds eat the green beans, they’d probably help themselves to blueberries for dessert. And then we’d have to play a game of Spank The Berry Bird.

    JC – Yay for spring!

Schwarz – I’m looking forward to outdoor recreation too – hiking, biking, kayaking. Hopefully our plans for white water rafting will come to fruition this year after being repeatedly rained out last season.

Prefectdt – Sorry for the glitch with the original seedling photo. I’m glad that you enjoy my little garden posts and like a proud parent, I’m thrilled to show pics of my little green babies.

Pandora – What are you growing this year? Flowers? Veggies? Bit of both?

dana – I promise to eat my veggies, but I’m finicky about which ones. Bring on the broccoli and carrots, but I may have to leave the house when the green beans are cooking.

Tim – Still definitely early spring here and the temperatures aren’t steady. There’d be no frolicking in the woods today or I’d be a very blue pixie.

Ed – How fun to try all those different crops. I’m sure I’ll keep my garden and trying new ones each year if I can.

007 – I’m just thrilled that I’m able to do a photo like this once in a while and that people enjoy them. :)

Jeff – Thank you! My bottom may be pale, but my cheeks are blushing now.

Tom – I promise pixies are real. You just have to believe.

Dr. Ken – I vote that I should earn another “get out of spanking free card” for volunteering to grow the icky things. At the very least I should get one if I manage to grow a bumper crop, no? And I’m so pleased you are enjoying Punished Brats. Hope you keep finding lots to love each time you come back.

Schwarz – Thank you for the lovely review!!

jan – True. They will be on the loose. Look out!

Tim – Lavender was a sweetie and did a great job. Lots of hard spankings on Saturday all around.

RTG – I’m afraid my spring fever is already at a critical state. I can’t take much more of being cooped up inside or freezing when daring to step outdoors. I’m beyond ready to sun my buns.

  30. Charlie

Thanks for the explanation and the update on last Saturday’s shoot (seen on Pixie’s Previews).

  31. RTG

come on down to NEW MEXICO, where its always sunny in albuquerque

well ok only 320 days out of the year, but still NOT BAD

  32. Dave

Lovely post Pixie! You certainly have a green thumb. I do love your vanilla posts on hiking and nature and photography and such.

Have not seen a “woodland pixie” in the forests yet–perhaps someday. Did hear the hoot of an owl in the woods a few days ago…..and in weather news, we had a snow squall(!) yesterday. Sheesh.

Happy Spring, it can not arrive soon enough,
    Dave :)
