A question that I’m asked fairly often via email or in comments here on my blog is do I prefer being spanked by a male or a female and why. The answer is simple, but the “why” part isn’t.
I honestly enjoy being spanked by both male and female spankers and have since I first began playing (pre-Pixie days). It’s much more about how well the spanker and I relate on levels of intensity, style, playfulness, and intent than it is about the spanker’s gender. There are some spankers that I’d love to play with time and time again and others that I’d rather not, but it is has little to do with whether they are male or female.
Perhaps it’s because I don’t engage in overtly erotic spankings and prefer the excitement of the spanking itself for fun or discipline that I don’t strongly favor one over the other. Spankings that may incorporate acts of a more sexual nature are limited to private play with my husband only so in that sense I guess you could say I prefer M/F (a very limited M of one!) But I greatly enjoy spanking in and of itself – the power exchange, the role play, the discipline – and for me, all of those dynamics can be fulfilled by either a man or a woman.
When doing scenes or just playing, I do have preferences in the sort of roles are played out dependent on gender. With a female spanker, I like the tough love spankings from a maternal figure (mom type, stepmom, aunt, etc), playful spankings between friends, as well as tougher no-nonsense discipline spankings from a strict high authority figure. When it’s a male spanker, I strongly prefer the all business discipline spankings with the guy in the role of headmaster, boss, coach, etc. I’m not nearly as comfortable with paternal spankings as I am with maternal ones though I do occasionally participate in such scenes anyway.
I know that many of you have strong feelings when it comes to preferring M/F or F/F and that some enjoy both as I do. What are your preferences and why? Are your viewing preferences the same as your personal play preferences? I only mentioned X/F here in my rambling as I’m a female spankee and therefore can’t speak from the F/M or M/M perspective, but if you can, please join in and share your thoughts and feelings too!

Most of my interests lie on the erotic and sensual side, though even in play I always liked the M/F setting. Of course that is all I have ever known personally, being as I had only one playful experience. That was being the father of a bad daughter…. Of course that was just playful, not erotic, because I always thought it kind of messed up to do the father/daughter scenario and have it be sexual.
Then back when I had a gf we talked of doing both disciplinary and erotic spanking stuff, though she didn’t want to rush into that stuff and I didn’t force her to do anything and then after a year we broke up so nothing ever happened. So I guess I don’t really have much room to comment then…
But as for F/M I am not a fan, but I know loving couples like Veronica Daniels and her husband do it, so if they like it then there is nothing wrong with it. I just don’t care for it. As for M/M….never watched it..never will.

To be bluntly honest, when it comes to videos, just about my entire collection is F/f. The reasoning is simple. There’s no “green eyed monster factor” when watching F/f. As good as David Pierson and Richard Windsor are at their job, I always feel that jealousy factor while observing them work. That factor just isn’t there with F/f. Also, I’ve noticed that the severity or intensity level always seems a little higher when it comes to F/f scenes. Bad for the spankee, excellent for the viewer.
And yes, when it comes to F/f, there’s plenty of excellent selections at Punished Brats.

Ok to start with when I play its F/M. I realy love getting lost in the part and the fact that there is nothing to worry about The person I play with I trust totaly. Or else I wouldn’t play with them. And I love her with all my heart.
As for wachting I chose F/F. for 2 reasons

I can truly say that I’ve never felt the effects of the “green-eyed monster” when watching a M/f scene. Quite the opposite, in fact, as I view it as somewhat vicarious. To me, the key to enjoying a spanking scene is the scenario: The reason for the spanking, the setting, and the delivery. Something that piques interest and sparks the imagination is all I really require and for that, M/f and F/f are equally appreciated.

I prefer F/F Just because it holds that mystisism that I never got to, or ever will get to expirence. As a child my father did all the spankings, and though they were not in the LEAST bit pleasurable, I always was curious and excited seeing my girl-friends get a spanking. from kindergarten up I have always fantasized and enjoyed girls getting spanked by their mothers or other female adults. My own preference is definitely towards the erotic side of play as I regard it as a consensual power exchange between equals. But there is a lot to be said for a justified punishment spanking across the groups M/F, F/F, F/M and M/M. I suppose for me it depends of whether or not I consider the act ‘justified’ as I have seen several great spankings in various movies that leave me absolutely cold because the setup goes against my own notions of ‘justice’.

For me I perfer to watch F/F spankings, espcially of you and Veronica working togeather, she reminds me so much of my stepmom Victoria who had an iron hand. At home in my personal relationship it is now just my hubby that does the spanking. We have both the erotic side and the punishment side as well. Although I miss the paternal spankings that I would recieve from Victoria. GREAT question! In my painfully infrequent opportunities to engage in real adult spanking, it’s always M/F or F/M. So far in my life there has been only one partner for this (who is not my wife — but I am truly blessed to have a wife who is kind and understanding enough to give my friend / “niece” and me time alone together when she is able to visit). I would consider the possibility of others, if a friendship were trusting enough to allow that level of emotional connection — but I would only ever spank, and allow myself to be spanked by, a woman. (As I’ve mentioned once before in a post to your blog, when I am being spanked or fantasizing about it, I imagine myself as a kid, maybe 9-13 years old, depending on my mood at the time. Even with a very close friend, I would never feel comfortable “becoming” that kid and submitting to a male.) Despite the, um, physical reaction that will occur in me, there is NEVER anything overtly sexual about the “scene” itself, whether it be emotionally cathartic fantasy (F/M, sometimes M/F) or real discipline (which the M/F usually is).
That’s why I love PB so much: Unlike the majority of other spanking video sites, your videos have NO sexual talk, sexual innuendo, or sexual tension: The scenes are at various times sweet, sarcastic, satirical, even silly — but never sexual. Before I discovered the site, I never dared hope that anything like it would ever really exist on the internet. “Thank you” doesn’t really convey my gratitude, but I’ll say it anyway — over and over!
As for WATCHING scenes, however, I do very much prefer F/F: While I have enjoyed many of the M/F scenes immensely, it’s the F/F ones that I go back to re-watch far more often. There’s definitely a “green-eyed monster” factor going on — although I don’t think I would have been able to verbalize that until reading the earlier responses here.
If I may digress about spanking in prose fiction: When I’m reading a spanking story in which a girl is spanked, while I think I still prefer F/f, I can get more into an M/f scene than I can in a video — possibly because in my mind I can cast myself as the “M” (unless the story is mean-spirited or abusive — always a HUGE turn-off for me) — something I can’t do so well in a video, where the guy obviously isn’t me! From what I’ve already said, it’s probably no surprise that I definitely seek out and enjoy F/m stories, but generally don’t actively look for M/m ones.
As for males being spanked in videos, I avoid M/M scenes, and, while not as averse, I don’t usually look for F/M. For one thing, well, there’s no beautiful young woman’s bottom to look at! Also, having the guy be an obviously grown man just shatters the illusion for me. That said, just last night I found a F/M scene on SpankingTube (which I learned about here — more thanks!) that I quite enjoyed — possibly because I could imagine the guy was a teenager being spanked by a mom-type figure, even though I knew that neither was the case.

My r/l experiences involve m/f and f/m scenes. I enjoy spanking women not to DISCOURAGE bratty behavior but to ENCOURAGE it. So my style is a playful, moderate spanking. I did enjoy being spanked by a woman for two reasons. First there was the erotic pleasure but there was also the thrill of giving up control. I found that being spanked served a great way to relieve stress.
M/f is my preference for watching a spanking. It goes back to John Wayne spanking Maureen O’Hara in the movie McLintock. I love the feisty woman being brought into submission. But many m/f scenes are too sadistic for my taste. I would never want to break her spirit. I do enjoy f/f scenes especially the more playful ones. One of my favorite f/f scenes was Susan spanking you on your blog anniversary last year. You both seemed to have a lot of fun which ultimately is a key element of spanking. It should be fun for both the spanker as well as the spankee.

I can’t say that I know anyone who likes spankings minus the erotic aspect of them. For me the two are inseparable and so when I play I prefer M/F or in case of F/F, I prefer the top to be very masculine as in a butch lesbian type. As for being the voyeur, really the only kind of spanking that I don’t really respond to is F/F with a feminine top. I do know some very wonderful goddess type tops but I think the lack of interest there is because I feel too similar to them in the feminine element and something about that is just so-so at best for me. Everything else, including M/M and F/M, if done well, I find enticing.

I like both M/F and F/F scenes. I simply basing it on which scenes I go back and re-watch. A favorite model and top seem to influence that choice. No surprise I like YOU Pixie as the best brat around and Veronica as the ultra stern top. That combination certainly delivers. My preference leans toward parental “Moms and Dads” (or even step parents), rather than coach, boss or teacher. In addition, I’m a huge fan of scenes bursting with dialogue and banter. Believe it or not, this question had the pup brain ticking all day today throughout an otherwise mundane day at work. I knew what my answer was, I just wasn’t sure how I got there, lol.
I have one preference when watching spanking videos and it isn’t anything that you mentioned above. My preference is all about the dynamics of the players involved. While I prefer to watch spankings that have a little bit of a glint in the eye, as in a little bit of cute banter between the players, I can honestly watch anything if the actors involved have chemistry.
There are way too many examples out there going back 25 years or more, and while in real life my only real preference is M/F, if the chemistry is right in the video then I can pretty much watch anything.
One example is your scene with Susan where she gives you the hairbrush. Right from the get go there is no nonsense and your immediate reaction was like “What the eff”, it was a perfect spanking!! At the same time I once saw a video of Tanya Foxx and Kiri Kelly where they played two girls exploring what a spanking would be like. It was all play but was just as awesome. The dynamic of the scene isn’t anywhere near as important as the dynamic of the players involved in my opinion.

When I was a kid, I didn’t have any preference as to gender, I was just facinated with spanking in general. I remember inventing my own version of “tag” where I would sneak up on another kid in the neighborhood, smack them on the butt and announce “Butt-Tag! You’re it. Pass it on!” Since most kids that age seemed to find spanking funny, it caught on and everyone played along.
But now that I’m an adult, I find same-gender spanking to be a turn off. My viewing preference is M/F. When playing with or fantasizing about someone it can be F/M (there is nothing more attractive in the world to me then a well-shaped male butt in a pair of jeans, how could I not want to smack it?) or it can be M/F (to find a man strong enough to manuever me into position, hold me there, and spank me hard, but yet gentle enough to do no harm to me in the proccess, that’s pure Heaven). When I play, it’s strictly M/F, and I tend to prefer “fun” spankings as opposed to disciplinary–disciplinary spankings would occur with someone I was in a relationship with. With someone I’m not involved with, I find it difficult (not impossible, just difficult) to go there.
When watching, as long as the spankee is a female, it doesn’t matter to me if the scene is M/F or F/F. I can watch and enjoy both. The only difference is that, when I watch a F/F scene, I inevitably wind up wishing I could spank BOTH participants.

I like to watch F/f and F/m material because urm, ah, well, being human the sight of a hot top bringing it on with the backside of a man or a woman is (er) exciting to me (blushes).
I do equally like M/f material but for two very different reasons.
1/ I hate the way that the paparazzi hound mainstream stars and although I would like to follow some mainstream personalities, there is no way that I am going to encourage the paparazzi by being an end line user. Instead I like to follow the careers and lives of female bottom/submissive performers. This blog is an example of how you can let your fans know about the bits of your life that you are comfortable with them being in on but you can close the door on things that are more private to you. This allows me and people like me to be fans without feeling overly obtrusive. This is a good thing on both ends, in my opinion.
2/ I like to compare performances between different female bottoms and submisives and this is easier to do when my attention is not being continually being drawn to a hot top, so M/f material is better for this.
I do have a question for you, if you don’t mind. I recently read in Fiona Locke’s book “OTK” how the main character found a woman’s lap more comfortable than a man’s, during her first F/f encounter. When it comes to videos… have to say that I prefer M/F. The dynamic just works better, and I’m not sure why. Perhaps I can better picture myself in the scene… or maybe it’s just that a man spanking is more realistic feeling to me. Another factor might be that I always wonder… ‘gee, it would be nice to see the female spanker getting spanked too’… lol.
When it comes to personal play sessions though… I do enjoy F/F spankings. They’re fun and/or interesting to watch in person.

Hi Pixie. Thanks for another interesting topic.
I can enjoy any gender pairing under the right conditions, but the conditions vary depending on the pairing.
I do M/F in real life, so that’s easiest to relate to. But it’s not necessarily my favorite to watch. I find most spanking scenes as part of a romantic relationship to be pretty boring—which is odd, since that’s something very positive in my real life. I like pure discipline scenes best, and many male tops don’t do it for me. I prefer the male to be older than the female, and they have to at least resemble a legitimate authority figure. They can’t be sadistic. They have to project a certain level of competence and dignity. The males spankers at PB are very good.
F/F is my favorite to watch. A maternal female punishing a deserving girl is a scenario that has always appealed to me. I find it to be the most pure and realistic example of the kind of discipline for girls found in homes growing up. There’s something a little off about fathers spanking daughters, however that’s okay if the characters and situation are right, and I like when adult females need a “daddy”. The female spanker must have the right qualities, same as a male. I like erotic spanking between females, but that’s a different type of scene altogether.
I can enjoy watching F/M, but it’s rare. The characters have to be just right. I have to believe both really fit the roles they’re in, and the female must be doing it because she’s really into it. In most F/M videos I’ve seen, something is awkward or unrealistic about it to me.
M/M would be the least likely I’d want to see. The only thing I can relate to with it is that, like F/F, it can accurately portray the most realistic discipline in the home (father/son) or school scene. That isn’t a scene I want to see, but oddly, it’s a scene that can appeal to me if a woman wants to see it. So I could watch it with her and enjoy it. I can’t explain why that is in few words.

For me where filming is concerned I think F/f is my preference, especially in otk, though there are scenes in which M/f works. I hink what I rally want is a believeable story – and from the English perspective, despite what some sites portray, it would have been very rare for a girl to be punished by a man, either in school or at home if it were a parent/daughter situation. Possibly boyfriend/girlfriend or husband/wife might happen.
M/m was what happeded at school but I have no interest in watching it – I just don’t know about F/m – although if the age differential were right that might work. That is for watching – for playing, whatever the situation might offer…..

I’ve used the “II” to distinguish myself from the other Jeff. I prefer taking the authoritative role (ackward to play paternal since I have my own little girl). In this guise, I can deliver relentlessly vigorous and thorough no-nonsense punishment spankings, usually to within the brink of safeword use. The bottoms who’ve chosen me invaribly have an objective in mind, usually involving behavior modification. How well these objectives are(n’t) met (they usually aren’t) determine the need for more severe whippins, by mutual agreement. Ed – Yelling on the part of the spanker or spankee? I’m not a big fan of in your face screaming on the part of the spanker (though I do like a stern lecture), but I like when the spankee shows a lot of genuine reaction including yelling and fussing.

Thank you for answering my question. I worry about the “squish” factor as well. Although the first time that ever go over a woman’s knee, I always ask afterwards if she was comfortable about it or not and have never received a negative response (even with one lady who was barely 5 feet tall) and I weigh in at nearly 90 kilograms. I doubt if you even make it to 60 kilograms, with your slight frame.

My play preference and viewing preference, they can be different, but neither includes F/F.
I get nothing from F/F – and probably because the thought of a maternal spanking, or aunt, etc. spanking me, makes me want to run. I’ve done it in videos, but that’s a whole other story.
My play preference….well, it’s not a preference really, as that implies there is a second best. I only allow men to spank me. I would call it a personal preference, though.
