dani - I should have stocked up on plaid Christmas paper as well with all of the after holiday sales. Plaid, plaid, everywhere!

Stef - This is definitely no fun. I had some complications and could only get one side done - good news, I have a side left to chew on, bad news, I have to go back and do this again!

Jeff - Oh, I think I will do us both a favor and avoid facing the camera for a while. I look less like a cute chipmunk and more like a bruised potato. Where's a good cave to hide in when you need it?

Joe - Yogurt, bananas, and movies On Demand are my friends. :D

007 - You're right. I don't think there is ever a good time for this. I suppose I put it off long enough as it is though.

gramps78 - I'm glad to be home, but I miss my family already. Wish I could clone myself and be in both places at once.

Lucy - Yes, I am in some pain, but lots of ice, rest, and some meds (that make me a complete goofball) are helping immensely.

Shopping is fun no matter what!

Ed - I wish the "wisdom" had skipped me too.

Tim - I had a wonderful time with my parents.

Nyssa is a phenomenal fusser. Lily Anna's debut will be Friday. Good stuff!!

Mitch - Thank you! Hope you have a great New Year too.

Duncan - I wasn't put out unfortunately. At times I wish I was, but overall it was ok. I'm just not looking forward to having to go back and do it all again on the other side. I wish I'd thought to ask for pudding. I have some rice pudding lurking in the fridge, but I'm pretty sure it's nearly old enough to be enrolled in kindergarten.

Schwarz - Thank you! I hope you'll find lots and lots to enjoy here in 2009.

Southern Expat - At this point, I can totally empathize with your experience. Ugh.

TigerLily - Oh, I'd have blushed so badly if there was a chance I might have been caught by the saleswoman. I probably would have rambled on nervously asking a million questions about the features of the massaging bristles in a lame attempt of throwing her off. Have you put the brush to good use though? For either purpose?

Tom - Thanks. Glad you enjoy my blog and I'm so happy that we can meet online like this to know we are far from alone in our interests.

Erica - You know me too well. It's been only a little over 24 hours and I'm already having workout withdrawal.

Charlie - I'm becoming highly skilled in sipping and sleeping. :) I think it will be a very sluggish New Year.

Winchester - Malt whisky! Whew! I won't feel any pain then.

My mom doesn't think anything odd about my love of short plaid skirts. I made sure to buy some more conservative outfits as well just for variety, but my mom has no problem with me liking cute clothing and has been known to buy some of my favorite little skirts and dresses!

Steve (UK) - Yep, we're all set for our honeymoon. The main trip at least is booked and now we have the fun part of deciding what little side trips to do. That will be a nice thing to focus on instead of icky teeth.

Prefectdt - Thank you!!

D - Yes, the bone graft isn't as terrible as it sounds, but does add quite a lot to the swelling and bruising. No fun.

^Mike - The idea was to get them all taken care of at once, but unfortunately I'm going to have to have it done in two stages due to complications. My pain is being mediated by the medication, but I sound (and look) like I am storing large gumballs in my cheeks.

Dr. Ken - My beloved Diet Coke?! It's been framed I tell ya.

2Good - Nope, no gumballs for a while. Such a shame as I received quite a few as Christmas presents and even gum filled candy canes (gotta love food science).

The hubby is taking good care of me and making me lots of scrambled eggs. He is even choosing to overlook my habit of dousing them in ketchup.

Richard - Thank you pup!! Hope to chat soon. :D

JC - The dentist sent me off with a handful of scripts. When dropping them off at the pharmacy, the girl asked how soon I'd need them. I said, "before the novocaine wears off. *drool*". Quickest fill I ever got!

Dana - Thank you. Feeling rather icky at the moment, but I'm sure I'll bounce back in just a few days more.

Good luck with the wisdom teeth...that ain't fun. Ice packs every 30 min, salt water (blech), and general soreness are a PITA in a non-pleasant fashion. May your dentist prescribe you some wonderful drugs.

Glad you had a good holiday. Looking forward to hearing from you in the new year.

So sad that you have to go through that. Some diet coke but no bubble gum for you! I lived on green pear-flavored apple sauce for a week. It's certainly better than green beans! Don't let anyone force you to eat solids until YOU are ready. That took me 6 days and had no complications! Do you like the extra attention? I am sure you will be well taken care of by your hubby and others. Be sure to rest and take your meds so you aren't in pain. >:) If you feel good, rest anyway because you have earned it!! I know you will come through it because you take such good care of yourself and you are young! (((((HUGS))))) 2Good

Pixie--
You know that somebody, somewhere, somehow is going to try and blame your dental problems on Diet Coke....
:-)
Have fun sipping Champagne on New Year's Eve through a twisty straw!

Hugs and spanks,
Dr. Ken

I had my wisdom teeth extracted on two separate occasions (guess I wasn't wise enough to avoid it). The first time, they used gas and all I remember was the mask going on, then coming off. Done. I was ready to go the moment I left the chair, and had a pizza on the way home. The second time was the old fashioned way: (not quite) numb and yank. Still, I don't recall any bad side-effects or lingering pain, just the inability to contain a sip of (Diet) Coke and literally being a dribbling idiot everywhere I went for an hour or so. Fortunately, I had friends nearby to mock me and make sure every slurred word was loudly pointed out.

Good luck with your surgery and I hope you feel better real soon.

Poor Pixie! Wisdom teeth removal can be painful I'm sure, but a bone graft too? What have you done to yourself girl?
Anyway, Happy New Year and love the new pic, and may both trials come and go as painlessly as possible!
