Spanking Pixie

Around The Yard

June 11th, 2008

Last night’s severe thunderstorms broke the heatwave and finally brought some relief from the near 100 degree temperatures and high humidity.  It was a very, very welcome change as we don’t have air conditioning.  While I’m a self-proclaimed frost chicken, the heat was a bit much even for me!

This morning was gorgeous – sunny, cool, and dry.  I threw on a pretty sundress and ran out barefoot, just as I always loved to do when I was a kid.  I got a bit daring and took a picture of my panty covered bottom while lying on the bench that sits on my front porch.  Hope none of the neighbors happened to look out the window at that very second.

And I played in the maple tree in the backyard.  Even as a little girl, I always loved to wear dresses (detested jeans) but thought nothing of stomping around in the woods or hanging upside down on the monkey bars and the skirt flying up.  I remember a boy in kindergarten taunting me with “I see London, I see France, I see ‘Pixie’s’ underpants”.  My response was, “yeah, so?”  Some things never change, eh?

While playing outdoors, I discovered that the buttercup type flowers my neighbor gave me have bloomed.  Still not sure what they’re really called, but they are pretty!

My newest rose bush is in bloom again and I couldn’t resist posting a picture of it too.  I’m knocked out by the color!

Sorry for all the garden chatter, but I’m loving spring.  And for those of you looking for a spanking fix, I ought to have a photo or two to share with you soon.  My boyfriend has been very busy lately in his workshop working on a little project meant to color my bottom as bright as my roses.  Eeep!

No air conditioning? Oh, bless your soul. Come down here. We’ll cool you off. (And then warm you up, of course… which is the comment I get whenever I complain about it being too cold in here.)

  2. Kat

I personally find that climbing up trees is the greatest thing in the world! :) Nothing beats sitting in the branches and watching the world go by around you.

The flowers are beautiful Pixie! As a notorious plant killer myself, I must say I am jealous of your garden. :-P

  3. Season

    Hi Pixie,

The flowers are called Yellow Evening Primroses. I have them in my garden too!

  4. Dreams oƒ Horses

I used to “hang” with girls just like you in elementary school. They were always the boldest and most interesting but, alas, they’d usually end up getting a smacked bottom (which never seemed to deter them, thank goodness). So glad to see you’re keeping a proud tradition going! And should an observant neighbor mention seeing your “unmentionables,”: “Yeah, so?”

  5. prajnaparamita

Earlier in the year we had four weeks of 100 -120 degree temperatures. When it broke with rain it was glorious!

Lovely garden and a pretty bench.

  6. Funbun

I HAVE to become your “friendly” neighbour someday. As I understand naughty girl presenting their “unmentionables” on the porch need some correction. And with hubby away, there needs to be a correcting hand… Always… :-)
    Love you! xxx, Funbun

How did you get away with hanging in trees and monkey bars (in a dresss no less) as a kid? I used to get scolded by my Grandfather for climbing too high in his trees, and I was wearing pants! You must have been cuter than me to get away with such naughtiness! I can picture you as a little one skipping about picking flowers. Now you’re growing them….and probably still skipping around.

The storm certainly gave us quite a light show, that is until the lights went out…then it was just dark!

Lovely pics, like a slightly naughty slice of Americana. Now all you need is some apple pie and a Chevrolet. (and a Diet Coke of course!!) Sing it with me…..”I’d like to teach the world to sing – in perfect harmony – I’d like to buy the world a Coke…” well you know the rest.

    Enjoy the weather!

    Dear Pixie,
What a lovely photo of you on the front porch bench! (And probably a wise decision to not go “straight to the bare”…..)
    As for anyone seeing–

SHE: Honey, what are you looking at?

HE: Hmmm? Oh, nothing. You know, I think I really like our new neighbors…

I think Season is right about the flowers, it’s hard to be certain but I think they could be Oenethera fructicosa. OK, there are two very fetching photo’s of yourself prating around in the garden and I am more concerned with the flowers, could someone please get me a psychologist.

i for one cant wait to see what your boyfriend (lucky man),comes up with in his workshop, and of course the results after. bring on those pictures.

  12. JC

    Damn, but you’re adorable…

Pixie, that picture of you hanging nearly updside down in the maple tree brought back memories. I used to wear dresses, too. Had to because I went to a private Catholic school. I always played on the monkey bars without worrying about the panty issue, too. My first little boyfriend fell for me because he got a clear and prolonged view of my panties one day. LOL! I stole him from my girlfriend, too. Didn’t mean to. He just liked my panties better I guess. Yup. Somethings never change…

  14. Chelsea Pfeiffer

That would be stold, not stole. (blusing at stupid typo.)

  15. Jeff

Hi Pixie. Again, LOVELY pictures!! I’d never want you to think we only really appreciate the bare-bottom shots. Some people just seem made to be photographed, and I think you’re one of them.

Has your boyfriend let you see (and perhaps have input in) his work in progress, or is he waiting to “surprise” you with the finished product?

    Jeff

Aside to Chelsea: No, that would actually be stole; you were right the first time. “Stold” is not a word. Now, if you could please approach the teacher’s desk…. ;-)

Chloe – We have a window a/c which we finally installed (right before I headed out of town!). If not for that though, we’d probably be living in the basement for the summer.

Kat – I always thought I was a plant killer too, but maybe there is hope yet. Maybe start with a small window box?

Season – Thank you for identifying the flowers. :) I’m glad to know their real name.

Dreams of Horses – Excellent comeback. I will have to keep that in mind when I see the neighbors.

pranjaparamita – Four weeks of over 100 degrees?? I hope you had plenty of air conditioning and cool water to drink.

Funbun – Well, it certainly could be interesting to be my neighbor if you look (and listen) carefully.

2Good – My parents never fussed at me about wearing dresses. It was far better than streaking as I’d been known to do at an even younger age.

Paul – Hope the power wasn’t out for you for too long. I had my candles all set up, but I would have really been at a loss without the fans.

Dr. Ken – Thank you. :) Sometimes bare is not best … especially since we plan to live here for a while to come.

Prefectdt – Seems reasonable to me to focus on the plants, afterall, the Pixie has already been identified. The yellow flowers are what need to be determined.

hairbrushman – I’ll be curious to see if he’s made any progress on his projects while I was away …

    JC – Thanks!

Chelsea – How funny!! The power of pretty panties. ;-)

Jeff – I’ve seen and felt what he’s created so far. He’s patterning it after an antique he found at a flea market. I’m hoping he’ll make it a bit thinner than it is now, but I fear that the more I protest, the less likely he is to change it!
