Memorial Day has just passed. It’s almost June. And just at the time when most students are chanting “no more papers, no more books …”, I’m heading back to school! As Richard Windsor noted when I told him this, I certainly will have no shortage of school uniforms should I choose to wear one to class. 
I’ve enrolled in what the school calls a “power pack” of summer certificate courses in advanced computer geekery. Right now I’m a bit bored though as the first couple of lessons have been review of material covered in courses I took a few years ago though and sometimes find myself struggling to pay attention. Perhaps I just need the proper motivation. A few swats of the school paddle? A few strokes of the cane? Or maybe a dose of the yard stick? What do you think? Let me know and perhaps what is selected will come to be!

The yardstick-y, of course. Which you, being the kind and generous soul that you are, will share with all your classmates. Who will, as may be expected, get it all over the keyboards, under the monitors and desks, and require the entire class to be kept after to scrape and clean the computer lab!

I think you should make more of an effort to PAY ATTENTION and behave yourself like a good little student! Ignoring your poor teacher, tsk tsk! I hope you are sitting in the front so the teacher can keep you in line and not in the back where it’s easier to daydream and try and get away with being naughty. No chewing gum in class….yardstick or other!

Everyone seems to be leaning towards yard stick, but aren’t they a little flimsy as Erica pointed out. Sorry, but I’d have to vote for the paddle.

I’d say the yardstick also, but one of the thicker ones. Thirty-six strokes from a 36″ stick in the head geeks office. Oh, yes, they will be delivered in front of a monitor cam so all the geeks in the classrooms can observe (sort of a modern day school punishment assembly), and play with their video software.

There was nothing flimsy about the yardsticks they had in British schools back in the 1970s! In fact, I recall that some teachers preferred them to the cane.
As for paying attention, maybe you should get someone to spank you before you go to class. I’d have thought that having a warm bottom would be the ideal way to keep up the concentration.

Sorry Pixie- but I vote for the yard stick as well, and not the bubble gum type either. And yes they do make thicker ones that won’t break on impact, but just in case I would make sure the spanker has an extra one on hand.
When I was in highschool about 15 years ago or so, my teacher would walk around with a yardstick in hand and if you were caught not paying attention she would wrap you across the knuckles. Let me tell you that hurt worse than a paddle across the butt. Of course I was slow to learn my lesson’s sometimes as well.

Now the bubblegum yardstick is clearly just a joke – a present for a good little spankee to remind her of what might be in store if she starts bratting instead of being good…:-) What a shame that there doesn’t seem to be a lovely big wooden spoon in this schoolroom – I wonder why it wasn’t suggested? Or perhaps I don’t wonder at all – because you were making the suggestions! In an English setting it would have to be a few (say 8 – that was the maximum allowed when I was at school) really hard strokes of the cane: in Scotland the tawse (which you do not suggest :=( but which I hink you know stings horribly) but as you are in the USA it has to be the paddle (Board of education?) or a real yardstick – and I am not sure that I mind which. The majority of your fans seem to favour the yardstick – perhaps they are being kind? – from what I hear the paddle properly applied is somewhat more feared by the recipient so I would have voted for that as the deterrent! Either-which-way, good luck with your studies.

Aside from those who, in the spirit of the post, obviously mean the gum, I wonder if everyone else is thinking of the same “yardstick”? There’s the “traditional” balsa wood kind found at every hardware store, which wouldn’t elicit more than howls of laughter if used for CP. I vote for the wooden school paddle about 18″ long and 4″ wide. The same type of paddles they used at my high school in the 80′s.

the yard stick is good but i am a fan of a good old fashioned leather belt. whenever i get lazy with my studies my daddy just unbucles his belt and i know that that is my cue to bare my bottom. and bend over his desk for a good 40 of 50 lashes of his belt. and i think that is exactly what you need a good dose of the belt to you bare bottom.
