Sometimes I’ll want to be spanked even though I haven’t done anything to warrant it. I don’t like to purposely commit some sort of serious offense just to earn a spanking as that could put a strain on the relationship. Even elaborate brat tricks can be a bit much if done all the time, so I tend to send out the “I want a spanking” signal by engaging in some playful banter. Nothing terribly rude, just a little sassy teasing, a line or two such as “what are you going to do about it?”, and maybe even a feeble attempt at swatting at his bottom knowing full well that in an instant, positions will be reversed and I’ll be on the receiving end. It gives us enough of a setup to then fall naturally into our pattern of mock discipline and engage in a firm yet playful spanking without me having to have done anything bad to actually feel guilty about.
I’ve heard the term “good girl spanking” be defined as an erotic spanking with as much rubbing, touching, and exploring as actual spanking, less often as a type of maintenance spanking to keep one a good girl, and sometimes a spanking given as a reward for being a good girl. But this is how I like to think of my own good girl spankings – a fun spanking given even when I am (not because or to make me) a good girl.
Sorry for the blur in the picture. I had the camera on the wrong setting and I didn’t want to ask my boyfriend, who doesn’t much care for being before the camera anyway, to do it over. Doing so may have resulted in earning a not-so-good girl spanking!

I think you just described the majority of spankings I used to give to my girlfriend.
Yes, she did sometimes plan more elaborate ways of earning a red bottom. It all depended on her mood. But she had a wonderfully wicked sense of humor, and usually just a well-timed comment or two was enough to make me reach out and say, “Come here, you!” Sometimes she only had to stick out her tongue to get upended.

We have a couple of ‘playful’ rules that when broken, result in a ‘playful’ type spanking. Nothing serious that would actually cause a real discipline spanking… say, like posting a blurry picture on the blog. Just a few harmless little things that neither of us focus on (like not putting dirty clothes on the floor).
This works much better than ‘asking for it’ which just doesn’t feel quite right. And for us, the teasing banter never stops, lol… so that signal would be lost.

I was surprised to see different definitions of a good girl spanking when I did a Google search one day. I’d first heard the term on a discussion board where the popular definition is a sensual spanking coupled with masturbation, but seeing as how there really are several variations on what the term could mean, it might be best to clarify with a potential partner first as there is a world of difference I think between a fun, playful spanking, an erotic one complete with masturbation, and a maintenance spanking to keep on a good girl!
