Being a kid is just such a fucked up time. We should just all be granted clemency at age 20 in a big ceremony so that it drives it all home that — THAT WAS THEN — and everything else is everything else.

But no, everything stays connected to all that stupid formative junk. *sardonic chuckle*

At Junior school we witnessed a number of spankings with a gym shoe – from a gym teacher who would spank in front of a whole class – using the piano stool as a spanking bench! He used to give every spankee a peppermint afterwards – and some boys would deliberately act up so as to get spanked for the sake of the peppermint. In retrospect I guess that the teacher had different motives…!

At senior school we never witnessed canings visually, but frequently did aurally. There was always a fascination, about how many, and who by! (Prefects as well as Housemasters could administer). There was also a fascination (which again in retrospect was probably unhealthy) to see the results! The cane was the only instrument used, and you know what marks that can leave!

I can also remember getting my cousin caned by my father because I had ratted on him – which left me with a feling of guilt for a long time – though I believe has probably been forgiven many years ago. The guilt was there because althogh he deserved what he got I should not have told tales!

As to your childhood memory – there are three faults: stealing the gum in the first place; lieing when questioned; and then allowing the other child to get the total blame when you could see what was happening and yet were too cowardly to make a confession even then! But all will have been forgiven lonag ago, and you should not live with guilt. Forgiveness is one of the most powerful forces in our world: and it extends to the next world too: so like me and the memories of my cousin, you and your memories of your neighbour (however bratty he may have been) are things that are past: we cannot resurrect them, and we should no longer feel gui;t.

if you gotten spanked to maybe u would not feel gulity. him by his grandfather you by either ya mom or dad. so the little boy will had sweet revenge and know you got spanked too

Erica – Guilt has a way of creating lasting memories that way. Even though my friend was often a brat (I guess that’s why his grandfather was quick to believe my tale), I still feel a little bad for getting him in trouble the one time he was sort of innocent.

I don’t think you should be spanked now for what happened when you where a kid- as Chelsea put it that was karma. I too have done a few things that have gotten my friends spanked and I somehow escaped that and the guilt is something that you have to deal with. But to me it sounds like you learned your lesson and it stayed with you.

i think everyone missing the point reason you feel guilty is cause you lie and feel bad about it. i think you just panic and was scare u were going get spanking too but it would be done by ya parents. and you was goign get spanked same way kid did.
