Big Moves

August 8th, 2007

After the big server crash back in April and several other technical issues since, we finally made the switch to a new web host. So far we couldn’t be happier with the service and everything appears to be running smoothly and far more consistently than ever before. This should mean fewer headaches for you and the PB team both.

It takes a few days for everyone’s internet service provider to refresh and catch up to the fact that our site is being hosted on a new server. I am currently updating the site at both locations but we’ll be disabling the old one by the end of the week. All members’ names and passwords have been migrated over along with the rest of the content on our site so you should not experience any difficulties in accessing the site due to the change in web host. But if you should have any problems, please feel free to write to customerservice@punishedbrats.com. (Just as a side note, many access issues are due to the system being case sensitive. Make sure when entering your username and password that your caps lock is not on and that you are entering your information the exact way you did when signing up including capital / lowercase letters.)

Now that our website move has been completed, I can concentrate on preparing for my other big move. My boyfriend and I will be closing just before leaving for the Shadow Lane party and will be moving into our first house upon our return. I can’t wait. It’s perfect, complete with a white picket fence and a woodshed. Yes, a woodshed! While we’ll still have to be cautious and considerate of our neighbors, we should have a bit more privacy for spanking play than at my current apartment where I can hear my upstairs neighbor sneeze, curse, and pee in the morning. No doubt he’s heard everything that goes on down here.

Lately we’ve been pretty busy with learning about mortgages, home inspections, shopping for furniture, and experiencing a good dose of sticker shock. We haven’t spent nearly as much time as usual hiking and kayaking but this has been an adventure all of its own. And right now my legs are already covered in poison ivy from a short hike we took by the Delaware River the other day, so going to the gym and then refrigerator shopping sounds pretty good to me!

Ouch. Sorry about the poison ivy, sweetie. Glad to hear you’re getting your dream house soon. Only three weeks now until Shadowlane. (HUGS)

    Congrats on the house!
A woodshed? Whatever will you do with that?!

Oh yes, fun with mortgages….I remember from when I bought my first house…a bit overwhelming….

    So Pixie, what did you put on the financial forms for occupation? And did you list “lovely, spankable bottom” among your assets? {grin}

    Congratulations!

007 – thanks 007. I’m going to the doctor tomorrow for the poison ivy. I can’t stand it!!!

smallhanded – Peanut and Misha are going to be so excited to have more places explore and stairs to run up and down. :)

prefectdt – thank you. It’s very exciting

Duncan – Thanks. That’s not a bad idea. Once we settle in a bit and at least have the basics covered like a bed, couch, major appliances, etc then we can have a bit of fun checking out the neat gadgets.

eric – hmmm … perhaps if I were moving into a rotunda. Can’t have corner time if there are no corners. >:)

mike – this will definitely be a big change. It’s a positive step for sure, but change is always a bit unnerving. I suppose if I get too stresse though, there will be ample opportunity to have my attitude adjusted.

2Good – Thanks! About the woodshed, I think we shall just store our firewood in it. Yeah, that’s it.

Mark – oh yes, mortgages can be daunting to say the least. When asked about my occupation I truthfully stated that I do web design. It got a little awkward when I was asked if I had a business card or online portfolio though. Why yes, just go to http://www.punishedbr … errr … nevermind.

I am very happy for you two and your brave move. With any change there is discomfort, but you sound remarkably well adjusted. If you get cranky, well, just make sure to keep the hairbrush close at hand.

Good luck on the move and the new home.

Congrats on the new house! That’s great news, though we’re sure your upstairs neighbor will miss ya, lol.

    :)

Brad – Oh yes. Change and stress can make me quite cranky, but a hairbrush will get me to quickly change my tune!

    Outlaw – thank you!

Todd & Suzy – thanks. It seems like moving to new homes is in the air. :)

  14. Winchester

Good luck with the move – I have never had to live with thin walls or ceilings but know the stress it can cause to others who have to and get music, radio, arguments etc from next door, upstairs or whatever punctuating their day. I must say however that if there were spankiing noises from the house next door I think I would be mopre than tempted to visit and ask the time of day….

And OK live in a rotunda – no corners, but plenty of wall to stare at instead!

  15. Poppa

Well Ms. Pixie, you can pick up some WOOD I sent to Ms. Veronica for you. Semms to me now that you have a WOOD shed…. ;)

  16. Amber Pixie Wells

Winchester – I can just picture you coincidentally popping over to borrow a cup of sugar every time I am naughty. ;)

Poppa – Hmmm … yes, it seems that I will be introduced to that hunk of wood very soon! Are you suggesting that I keep it safely tucked away in the woodshed, out of easy reach within the home? Good idea!
