It was an absolutely gorgeous day at the lake. Sunny, warm, and surprisingly not humid considering it’s July in Jersey.
Even the turtles were enjoying the fine summer day basking in the sun.
Instead of my normal mane of unruly curls, I wore my hair straight and the dry air allowed for it to stay that way as we went for a hike. An uncurly Pixie? I almost didn’t feel like me!
Mmmm. Fresh well water. Icy cold goodness on a warm day.

Pixie with straight hair, omg, I have never seen that since the first day I met you!! Anybody *Inspire* that look?
An old proverb in relation to wild animals.
Person #1 “Why are you putting on your sneakers? You will never outrun the lion with those on”
Person #2 “I know, but as long as I outrun you I should be fine”

You always look beautiful, but I specially like you with straight hair.
Notice how well I resisted the temptation to make bad jokes about bear in the woods. Besides, they might curl you hair.

Wow, bears, bums oh my! Really incredible photos. You and small-ish hiking shorts go extraordinarily well together, dear Pixie.
Seriously, I do love your outdoor adventures and pix. I hope to go hiking myself this weekend–no bears here, just primarily deer.
Love your blog.

Wow, Pixie, the straight hair really looks good on you. And you’re a good photographer – I love the shot of the turtles.

Nothing quite like the great outdoors.
Glad you had a fun time. Sorry the bare bottom pic didn’t quite turn out, but “if at first you don’t succeed….”

Richard – I know! I’ve almost never been without my curls! I had my haircut yesterday and the hairdresser offered to try straightening it. I happily agreed because there is a scene I’m planning to do that requires straight hair. I loved how it turned out, but unfortunately as I found out today, it’s not so easy to do it myself.
That proverb is so funny and a bit of sad truth.
David – My contract may need revising then. I’m in bear country.
Mark – Thank you so much! I liked the straight hair for a change. I hope to learn how to do it myself so I can switch it up once in a while.
Oh, and now I’m trying to figure out what bad jokes about a bear in the woods you were thinking of.
Dave – Yep, you never know what you might find in the woods! Pixies, bears, bare bums, you name it. Be careful hiking with all those deer.
jhthree – Thank you. The turtles were so cute laying out there catching some rays.
007 – We would have tried again to get a better bum pic, but we heard people walking right outside and we weren’t supposed to be in there anyway. Didn’t want to get caught with my pants down you know – literally and figuratively.

I LOVE your hair like that!
Super cute!

P.S. I can bring my straightener and we can play around next time I come out.

It would seem you had a near perfect day – beautiful countryside and woods – ideal for a holiday or day out. I like the hairstyle – it adds to the appeal: all those curls are sometimes a bit too “little-girly”. Now. with the straight hair, how about an “Alice in Wonderland” shoot? Good costume and easy to imagine where some of the story-lines might run…
Good thing the hair was straight too: bear might not so easily have recognised the Goldilocks still wanted in the bear community for burglary! How wise to steeer well clear!
Thanks for the post.

Goodness, I don’t know what’s more amazing… you with straight hair or a bear that has built his own house.

Peter – It was a disappointment! But there’ll always be another opportunity some other time.
Chloe – Thank you! It might be fun to try using your straightener. I hope it’s industrial strength. My curls just laughed at the one I tried to use and bounced back with avengence.
Winchester – Thank you. I’m glad you like me with straight hair, but I hope you don’t mind the curls too much as that’s simply how my hair is naturally. Apparently straightening is very damaging so I’ll have to reserve this for special occasions … better to have fun, bouncy curls than charred bits sticking up like a hedgehog, right?
I’ve already done an Alice in Wonderland scene. A small picture from that scene currently appears on the home page of our site and the scene will be featured on the next Fantasies DVD that will be released soon.
Anonymous – Hahaha. I always thought the 3 bears’ cottage was a little bigger than that! Actually, that’s just a large old dog house that sits on the border of the state forest and one of the lake front properties.

You missed out on your big chance at a bear bottom spanking… wimp!
The straight hair look is very nice.
